Don't know much about Strats .. Un-reeded, un-lined so guessing 40s?
Seller says appears unworn. Fingers crossed.
I don't know much either, but this looks like a fantastic hat! Was the brim wider on these earlier ones? Congrats!

Wow! Great find!!A late night/early morning Etsy victory from a couple weeks ago.
It arrived today, finally! Supposed to be priority mail, but I think it was sent instead on the back of a three-legged turtle. Oh well, just built up the anticipation.
Out of the box

Normally I'd be mad if I got a hat packed like this...

Some of you may know where this is going...

But wait...there's more!

It doesn't show well in my pics, but one is a little darker than the other. It also has a different pattern to the center point of the crown where the weave starts. To the best of my recollection I have seen this one most often labeled (on the rare occasion that they are labeled that is) as Balibuntal.

It weighs 32.7 grams. I believe it will block easily to my 58cm size, or a bit bigger.
This one has a pattern I always have associated with Parabuntal.

It weighs 34.6 grams. While both are supple, this one is very springy, and not just in a fashion sense. It didn't want to stay unfurled, very elastic. It also seems a bit smaller, but I think it will block to my size.
Both are in great shape for being in their 70's. I feel a few straw ends here and there but no major damage.
I have been hoping to find one of these old tubes with just one hat at an affordable price for ages. Imagine how thrilled I was to spot this!
Now to choose a hatter to do them up right...
Indeed. You gotta take your punches. LOLDedication.

WELL... that was some excitement last evening. I was sitting outside on the patio waiting for time to bid on a special hat that @BobHufford had alerted me to. I decided it was time to go inside and as got up out of the chair I guess my foot had fallen asleep and my leg buckled underneath me and my iPad goes flying. As I’m reaching for the tumbling iPad and realizing it’s gonna shatter on the floor... my numb foot causes me to go crashing with it right into our sliding glass door. Luckily I bounced off of it and didn’t go smashing through the glass. My wife came running out to find me laying on the concrete tangled up in the bent up screen door that came off the tracks and crashed down with me.
a bit worse the wear.. but fine... I managed to get on for the end of the auction... iPad wasn’t cracked! I managed to get the winning bid with only a few bucks more than my opening bid
wooohoo! At least... I hope!!!!! I could still Be passed out on the ground for all I know. LOL
Most excitement we’ve had around here all year
Blue skies.... nothing but... blue skies.... over me...........

Hats are great, Joe, but please don't risk life and LIMB! Stay safe, young man.
That's too bad. Personally speaking, that blue could have easily been a daily driver.I was on some oddball auction site watching a lot with a 1940s Stetson (not sure the model), a later Stetson 3X and a not-too-old Borsalino. The bidding had been stuck at $40 for several days. I was really after the light blue Stetson, but (despite having set a timer on my phone) I looked down and the auction only had 5 seconds left and it was still 30 minutes before it was supposed to end (according to their own countdown timer that I had checked off and on for the last couple of hours). Boom! Closed! No hat for you!
WTF?
I guess I should have put in a max bid earlier, but still ... this one hurt a bit. Hope someone here got it.

Very sharp. Good score! I hope you share how it turns out once you get it formed to your liking.Joining the hat lottery group, $21. Seller says it’s a Stetson. No crest or size information available but I figured why not roll the dice? Shipping will cost more than the hat.

Haha. Thanks! That hat might have some bad luck or a curse or something! Send it this way and in a few months or so I will have an exorcism performed and test it out completely to insure said curse is lifted. It will probably only take a few months or so.. Wait what size do your wear? Oh.. nevermind then... Really nice looking hat.
