How does the fiting jacket process work? And how would they know my measurements?
No.Does Thurston ever discount or have sales on stock products?
I've went down a rabbit hole a few years ago and learned to measure myself and my clothing preferences. I couldn't believe how limited vanson was on sizing for the cool jackets. My only question still is how much the import tax is going to be lolI would avoid the Thurston "fit" process. I got talked into it by people here.
The reality is they will decide what model of jacket they think "fits" you better and override your order accordingly. Buyer beware. I've had no such issues ordering direct from Aero. And those jackets fit better!

Same thing happened to me with a Thedi I ordered through them. P2P and shoulder measurements were both way off and I had to push back hard on the gaslighting and hand wringing to get a remake.I think there's some degree of saving the customer from themselves, but I hear you. Just had a situation where one of the measurement specs I ordered was completely ignored, and they were prickly about making it right, which blew my mind actually.
Totally, I remember freaking out because Aero put a snap button on the inside pocket of my Teamster when I had asked for no button. Carrie talked that through with me and I saw how silly I was being about a truly minor detail.Yeah, I get that she needs to push back in some situations, because some people can be weird with buyer's remorse and will complain about the strangest things. But to apply that same pushback to every situation across the board, even when either she or the jacket company clearly F'd the order up is just ethically wrong and a terribly foolish short-sighted way run a business and treat your customers
