Here are some shots of the caps I got from http://www.hatpeople.com/.

As you can see, the extra full is quite a bit bigger, but looks more vintage without being clownish. Also, since there is no snap on the bill, you can move the material back and forth to expose as much of it as you like.

This is the extra full.

This is the full.

The full in gray.

Hi Rgraham,

It could be great if . when you have the time, you post some frontal views and, better still, one showing both models side by side.

Great caps!

These Hat People caps look great !
The extra full looks a bit extreme but the full looks wider than a B Wear, so a Hat people full is going to be the one for me.

I got this new one today from this US ebay shop http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WOOL-HERRINGB...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

It is THE perfect 1930's style Gatsby that I've been searching for...the Herringbone is a lovely neutral grey/brown, the cut/style just floppy enough.

I washed it on a hot wash cycle and wore it damp to shape it to suit and put a curve in the peak.

A happy customer indeed !

Great cap !
They sell them in Small/Medium/Large - how did that match up to your head size ? I'm a 58cms but find that wool caps shrink a bit in the rain after a while (my B Wear did), so if buying another wool cap I'd go up a size to compensate for shrinkage.

Hi, and thanks !

This is the S/M size, which should be perfect for you, I'm a 58 too..

The cap didn't get tight or small even after I washed it on a colourfast setting !

So I'd stick with 58 if I was you.

Don't be alarmed when you open the package, the cap looks like a bin lid....until you shape it to suit.

Since we discussing this, Hanna Hats makes very fine eight piece styled caps.

Tweed from Hanna

I am glad to see Hanna Hats getting mentioned. I bought a grey tweed flat cap very similar to Carter's. I bought it from http://www.noggintops.com

I wasn't sure if I should get a M or L. Cheryl at Noggintops told me that because the hats are handmade that the actual measurement can vary within a size. I told her I needed a 59 and she said she would measure the hat before sending out to make sure that it fit just right. And it does!

I am very happy with my Hanna and I like that it seems to be a brand with a long tradition. I'll try to get a picture soon.

OK. Here's the Extra Full. I would definitely recommend it only for 1) larger guys, 2) round or broad faces, or 3) Women who like full cut hats.

I think when I get used to seeing myself in a cap, this will become a favorite, as I already like it. And it's very comfortable. I highly recommend Hat People. Great hat, delivered in just over a month.

That cap looks great!
Is the sweatband material or leather?

Thanks, Feraud. The sweat is some sort of ribbon, actually. Also, the bill is soft enough to roll, but stiff enough to hold it's shape. The hat is perfect for stuffing in a pocket or bag. And there is an elastic band sewn under the ribbon sweatband that is accessible at the back for size adjustments.

ukali1066, Thanks for posting this! I just ordered one. Now I have to anticipate it's arrival. Just in time for a cold and windy autumn. I hope.

The pleasure's all mine Carter, happy to have introduced you to a great cap.... :)

Hope you like it as much as I do mine

ukali1066, The cap arrived today. It's in my top three for certain. Many caps don't have enough material to really sit down on your head. This one does. It's also got plenty of material so you can shape it front, back, or to one side or the other. I was able to shape it right out of the box. At 50% wool, 50% polyester with a quilted polyester lining, it's also a bit lighter than an all wool cap. Costing less than $25.00 US before shipping, this is also the least expensive cap I own. However, it sacrifices nothing in the good looks arena. All in all, this is a great looking and functional 8-panel cap. It's definitely a keeper. :)

Having spent some time with my B!wear caps.....I have decided there as much as I like them, there is one thing that I don't care for. The brims are much narrower than all my other tweed caps. Compare the B!wear and a cap I bought in London:

Take a look at Lon Chaney's cap:

If I were to have Brett make me another, I would only do so if he would make the brim wider.

That is the same for me, I already have a big enough head and the smallish brim seems to accent that. If he would make bigger brims I would order many more.

This is my B!Wear Cap I got a few months ago... I agree with MK, I don't know that I feel comfortable with the cap's proportions as it relates to my head.

I recently bought a full cut Hat People cap and it's my new favorite cap! Next time I'm going to give an extra full cut a try and request a button on the brim so it can't flip up in high winds. The search continues I think for a Lon Chaney-esque cap ;)

This is very good to know. I just ordered another cap but decided to go with Hat People. It was a toss up between them and B! Wear because I'd never ordered from either but heard good things about both. The deciding factor was the color. I just got rid of a Jonathan Richard cap because it had a tiny brim that just never looked right when I wore it.

And with all the Hanna talk earlier, I'd like to mention how much I love my Hanna cap as well. My next cap will be the 8/4 Hanna...first I have to get a couple of Akubras while they're so cheap.
