Got my latest Schott creation, the 121 Type III in medium weight cowhide, a leather jacket style I've liked for some time. Schott has 3 jackets in this family, the 121, P620H and the gorgeous P622H. Those last two are Type IIs in horsehide, which I still want to get a jacket in, but they were either a shiny finish (P620H) or really heavyweight (P622H).
I do suggest anyone who is open to wearing a heavier jacket to strongly consider the P622H, the burgundy is one of the most gorgeous jackets/hides I've ever seen. It's a Horween horsehide product which looks like brown in a darker room, and a rich, muted Burgundy in bright light. One of the best jackets I've ever seen, and who knows, I might just pick it up one day. There's always the factory sale...
Anyway, the 121 is definitely a slim-fitting pattern, and I measured the jacket once I brought it home to see how it compares to the listed specs on the Schott site, as well as my other Schotts, and it is surprisingly different. The chest is merely 22.75 inches when normally I prefer 24", but it works. I definitely cannot layer a thick sweater underneath, but I expected to wear the jacket open with a t-shirt only, or a t-shirt and a button down most of the time anyway. I really like the jacket, and while it is 4+ pounds it carriers lighter than that. Highly recommended.
