New Aero - Hem alterations

Does anybody have experience reducing the hem on their leather jacket? I received a made to order Aero Half Belt (50s) about two weeks ago. Attached some pics below. Unfortunately I overlooked the hem measurement when ordering - chalk it up to be new in this space. When zipped up, there is quite a lot of flare at the bottom. Unzipped it is better, however you can tell it’s too wide for my waist. I can take better pics tomorrow

If it’s too much to make better, I may have to sell it

This is kind of the pattern of the 50s halfbelt, I had one and it fitted about the same.

I think if you are slim its not a great jacket if you want a fitted look. Surprised you didn't go for the 30's version.

Thanks for the input - i inquired about the premier and realized my arms wouldn’t fit (16.5 inch circumference). So I was worried about higher arm holes and slimmer fits. Good to know you had a similar fit

Look into the 1930s half belt, it has a slim v silhouette. Only thing thing that would be an issue is if you have a muscular build (big shoulders and arms). The 1930 half belt would be too tight and might have to size up, which would defeat the purpose of it

Looks a little too big.

Are you in North America? If so reaching out to Carrie at Thurston Brothers may be a good option to help get the fit dialed in, she is very good at this. See her related thread on here.
