You can see they are so similar it’s crazy…I tried to oil it to ”blend” some very strange dark areas…..not as nice (when I got it) as the one you have on the way!! Also pictured is one of my many natel/natals ( I think I have eight)

grabbed an "arts cow parts" jacket in size 42 at savers in Nashua a couple of weeks ago for $50. Gave it to my dad as a christmas present (he LOVED it!). It is built like a tank

Can confirm it seems pretty similar to a couple of dyer ones that I have. I grew up in MA and all these places are pretty close to one another. Art's cow parts used to have a physical store that closed in 2011

TBH the Natal CR I had was actually pretty horrible. Absolutely zero tailoring. Fit like a sack of potatoes. I wouldn’t pay $15 for one. The cross zips are much better. But IMO the CR’s are junk. But I also hate CR’s, so there’s that too.
Well there we go! Solved!!

So the CZs are much better, or aren’t much better?

Agreed tho tbh, still better fit than Langlitz.

The Natal CRs fit me reasonably well, but the high point I would say is the leather. The Walker Dyers for a time were using the same hides and show better workmanship, but being on the thinner side my Vansons fit me the best.

A few weeks ago, I found a US Made Middleton Mass jacket in my size, 44. A cross-zip with side laces, epaulets, zip-out lining, inside pocket, long kidney panel with action back. No belt, no coin pocket, no breast pocket.

It was sold on ebay by the Salvation Army, and had an opening bid of $9.99, and ended up going for $81, a rather good price. I was the high bidder, and it came home for under $100 with shipping and taxes.

It arrived, and I am rather impressed. This leather feels like Vanson comp weight leather, the good old comp weight from before the old tannery burned down, and maybe even heavier, and the jacket hasn't been worn very much. I think it spent most of its life in a closet. It's 8 lbs and hefty -- feels a lot like my old, long-lost TRD jacket did, though it differs in many details.

Quite a find, got a bargain.
Found another US Made in my size, and jumped on it for $65, a pittance. It looks like it'll need a good cleaning.

Long term forum readers may recall from time to time I'll talk about the first good motorcycle jacket I owned, made by TRD "The Real Deal" of Cleveland, OH, which for me was the perfect biker jacket, which I tragically lost. The quest to replace that jacket eventually led me to these forums, and buying countless jackets since.

This incoming US Made is a close match to the style and configuration of that TRD that I lost. There have been 4-6 other jackets that I've found over the years that were close, but not quite the equal of, that beloved TRD. This one might be the closet yet. The leather thickness and grain are very like the TRD, although this one seems more worn and patina-ed. This one looks like it has a lot of superficial scratches than my old TRD did. But it has the same brownish undertone to the black as the semi-aniline dye has begun to fade, The pocket configuration, full belt, epaulets, action back gussets, brass hardware, and long back kidney panel are all basically the same type as the TRD.

Build quality of my other US Made is comparable to TRD, but I think I'd put my old TRD above this one still. Once I have it in hand, and can clean it up and give it a good look-over, I might revise. My memory is a bit rose colored, too.

Looking forward to seeing how it fits and how it looks zipped up
