that shall hence fourth require a very serious discussion..a topic that is perhaps worthwhile of reflection. It may expose some big developments.

My Irvin and B3 are hanging around trying to shame me into losing enough weight to fit in them again.... just a couple of stone to go...

I bought a Pike Brothers N-1 deck jacket a few weeks ago, can't wait to try it out. If London now has the mildest autumn/winter on record you can all thank me.

Be interested to hear how you get on with that. I've had my eye on both their N1 and the B15A for a while; obviously we all know what the right answer is there ;) , but one of them has to come first...... (Or I might just crack and buy an alpha "N3A", as they call it, in the Replica Blue (making it an N2A, really) for this Winter.....).

This thread is the functional equivalent of walking into a gamblers anonymous meeting and asking the attendees if they ever they ever shirked their responsibilities in order to visit a casino.

I'm not sure that's true. We're more like the "fun" guys who lure you outside the meeting for a smoke, and then say "Hey, wouldn't it be fun to go to that bar for a few quick drinks?" .....

I've had my Booklegger sitting in the bedroom since I bought back in the year, just so I could throw it on every so often and *help break it in*. This morning the thermometer was at 9C when I was up (6am) but by the time I was driving home it was up at 16C, so the Irvin stays stored for the time being...

I envy you those temperatures. I think I could do leather in 16.... down here it's still to fall much below 20, I think. Still ,not as bad as it has been. We were in Paris and the South of France last week, and it was rarely below 30. Lovely place, but that sort of tmeperature is my idea of hell!

My girlfriend once told me she wanted to walk around the house in nothing but one of my jackets, or vice versa. Memory is scant. But I liked it. ;)
Oh the ladies love the shearling when the evenings get chilly. A couple have curled up on the sofa in mine at different times. Also if you hand an Irvin/B3 over for them and they feel how heavy it is. They get this look in their eyes. Surprised at how heavy it is. Then sort of a glint that you can wear such a beast and not think twice. ;)

Please tell more. Those are my favorited type of stories. I had a girlfriend once who walked around my apartment wearing nothing. I didn't have any leather jackets back then, so she didn't have the leather option.

Neither my wife nor my girls would ever wear my B-3, but I made the mistake ONCE of walking in during winter, and throwing it down on the sofa, and no sooner did I turn around than the Bernese was snuggled up in it giving me 'sad eyes'. Chancer.
My wife used to have a 'Lolita fashion' thing going on before we got married and had kids. Google some pics of that (careful! Maybe NSFW!), and imagine what it was like introducing her at faculty functions and events.

Most interesting. Is she Japanese? Was she Classic Lolita, Sweet Lolita or Gothic Lolita?

I was going to say, cats and dogs love jackets - esp sheerling. They also have a thing for any jacket with a faux-lining that is likewise warm and fluffy.
I keep having a nightmare where I leave a jacket out and wake up to a shredded mess of CXL jerky.

@Peacoat, whoah! You know your stuff! She was classic/gothic depending on the day. Kind of 'sexy Alice in Wonderland' one day, and 'Victorian nightmare street walker' on others. Yep, Japanese.
TBH she still likes to dress up, and it's an expensive hobby. I think she views my fashion choices as dressing up too, which is why she doesn't mind how much I spend on jackets and stuff. She's very understanding.

Occasionally, my girlfriend is into that, too and she'd be a lot more if the gear was more readily available. She was into that ouji sub-style for a while and I really didn't know how to feel about that. Eventually she switched back to a more conventional punk styles so that's one less thing to worry about. I guess...

OUija - you mean like wearing shirts with the board printed on it and that sort of thing? Yeah. Not imagery I'd be comfortable messing around with myself.

One of my favorite reasons for living in Alaska is that no matter the time of year it is always good jacket weather. 3 months of summer for my moto leathers, 2 month swing seasons for my mid-weights and 5 months brutally cold for the shearlings.
ba***rd.

Friday night at 3:30am I was standing in front of the living room mirror wearing my LHB, my new gray flannels, a Fair Isle vest, my new Loake Bedales, and an Akubra FedIV when my son and his girlfriend crashed through the front door. "Mommy's all right, Daddy's all right,...."
If they were singing this, you did well.
As to the implication, I might question it :p

I love that Lolita look, but around here we don't see much of it. In downtown Nashville at the clubs we might see it occasionally.
