Just caught up to this thread. Great collection of lids there, Rusty! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap They all look great, but I really do love the combination of the ribbon and felt on The Harvester. Very distinctive.

I know that the Memphis Blues is a lightweight. Are the other lids all the same weight felt, or is there any variation there?

Cheers,
JtL

R -- I know I have asked this before, but can you describe what "western weight" is on these lids? For example, can you compare the western weight to the weight of the felt on an OR?

Thanks!

From what I gather from Mike, it has to do with the weight of the felt.
A western is usally [I think] 6 ounces. My MooreLite was around 2.5 ounces.
The dress weight is somewhere in between.

Those are great too, Warbird. The green one catches my eye probably because I don't have a green fedora, but they're all very nice. Is that a silver ribbon or a light green on the green hat?

You guys are killing me. I've got hats on their way but not here yet, and I know what they look like.

Not sure how to answer. It definitely has silver tones to it and gold tones it. Really neat color contrast IMO. I like it.

Yours is done, I want Indycop and Rusty to see it when they come over in two weeks, I looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!! bound edge almost the color of the hat ( natural) green 9 linge hat band bow ribbon, open crown 5 3/4"

Tom, you just will have to wait about two weeks, I'll make it worth your wait, matter of fact your bill may have already been paid up, and the balance is zero!!!!!!!!!!!!! just the shipping. I have been so side tracked these last two months, sick, vacation and other things, but coming along very nice right now, had a heck of a day Sat and Sunday in the shop sold several 100% western hats and dress hats.

The customers really like the mid weight western body hats, man they are light and thin, I myself love em. I have a hard time trying to tell people that e-mail about the hats I make, alot ask are they heavy like the hat I have that I bought 7 years ago, and then say it's cost alot too, I paid $125.00 for that Brand Name 5X. When they come in the shop and hold my low end western weight hat, they can not get over how light it is, then when they hold the the other weights, they just say , man on man that there is a big differance.

Just got back from a meeting withe the board of the Ruffin, I have something up my sleeve I want to do there, and it would be folks dressed to the tee's in dress hats??????????
