My 1932 House

My wife and I purchased our home in 2008. Over the years, we have put quite a bit of work into it. The house is less than a mile from Galveston Bay, and the fact that it is still here after almost 100 years of hurricanes is a testament to the solid construction!

And …

What sort of work have you done to the place? Interior? Exterior? Grounds? From that one photo it appears that the paint and roof are fresh and that the windows were replaced at some point.

We've done a lot. Roof and paint, of course, as you noted. Also: all new electrical (it still had knob & tube when we bought it), all new plumbing, renovated the bathroom, new HVAC/water heater, and also took down some of the sheetrock to expose the original shiplap walls...which still had original 1930s wallpaper on it!

^^^^^^
It sounds like the house found the right stewards this time. Sometimes it seems that for every house “put back right” there are a dozen that get the original character “improved” clean out of them.
