Hello Sir: i have a hat made for Hopalong that i’ll post when they let me. It’s a Valentine the Hatter from LA. Valentine made for all those boys back then, Mix,Cooper, Rogers etc.

I have a Valentine hat, but it was not made for anyone famous that I know of.

Not mine but here are pics of a Valentine once owned by Lash La Rue. Silverbelly, with a 4-1/4" bound edge brim x 3-1/2" crown. The crease is attributed to Roy Rogers. Sweat is embossed for LASH La RUE.

I know it's Hollywood and all that, but wouldn't a Pork Pie hat like the one Elmer Brendel is wearing in that photo be anachronistic on a man in the old west? I thought they were primarily a ladies' hat until just after the turn of the century.

It was probably a Borsalino.....as to which model, that's lost in time.Delon is still around but I doubt he remembers.

An interesting study of brims and early hat styles. I give this film props for the variations of men's head wear of the latter 19th century. I'd watch this for the hats alone. Werewolves notwithstanding.
