Hi,

Freebird - Love the photo (especially the tie and belt), but like most things in life, it improves with age. Prefer it as you are now, as the others have said. You have loads of character and that is fantastic!

MissS - Haha why thank you, but no need to tone down, always brings a smile to my face just as I'm about to leave the house. If you can't step out of the door and confront the day with a big smile, what else can one do ? lol

Two Gun Bob/Smudger - Ace photo, reminds me of the good old days, can't wait to see you at SVR. The drinks are on me ;)

All the best,
Pip (now enjoying the beautiful sunshine)

One happy Spitfire

This is how I look, when I have just bought a vintage wooden aeroplane propeller.
It's in the box - but you can see others hanging behind me on the wall. MUCH smaller than mine, which is two meter long with brassedges!:D
Picture is from Nice, France. Taken yesterday.

One last pic.I found this today while going through some boxes.
In the late 80's early 90's, my brother & I were toying with starting a photography studio, and were testing a camera/lighting system out. This is pre-fat, not crippled and with 2 good eyes. Coincidentally, this was about the time of my last date, just prior to losing the eye.

You look UNCANNILY like Edward Norton here. :) I approve! :)

Excellent piccy, really like the casual/laid back look, but still has a certain aire of pinnache to it. Fantastic :D

Nice prop too ;) . Reminds me of a story from 1939. A Polish pilot (later to join 303 squadron), along with many of his comrades were forced to flee Poland to Romania as fast as possible. This Polish pilot wanted something to remind him of his "home roots"...so he had one of his mechanics remove the prop from his (now defunct) aircraft...he carried this prop from Poland - Romania - through Germany - through France and finally it ended up on the wall of the 303 squadron Officers Mess in England lol

Strange anecdote, but you're photo reminded me of it :D

And Nice, I absolutely adore the place. Very jealous :D

You're too hard on yourself. Small details may change, but the base remains the same. :)

I supposeI am my own worst critic...Although, I have heard young ladies, who didn't know I was within ear shot discussing how they wouldn't be caught dead with me, that was even prior to that photo being made, so I guess I started believing it.

My mom said that about my dad and refused to go out with him because she thought he wasn't attractive and for over a year he pursued her, a few years later they married and have been for 38 years.

Don't believe other people, just believe yourself.

I'm not that persistant. I figure if someone wants to go out with me, then she'll say yes, if not then no, one shot deal, why waste time?

who wants to be caught dead with anyone that shallow?

If they were young, they'll probably regret being so crass in a few years when they know better. In any case, there will always be people that say/do stuff like that....it's a bummer, but I suggest forgetting and avoiding them, and sticking around positive upbeat people - like the FL for a start, but nice folks are out there.

If it's the right person she may be worth extra effort....I'm with you though, I never liked being a pest if I got a "no"...

Righty ho - Here is the entry for Sunday lol

British Infantry - Circa 1944 - Cameronians (Scottish Rifle Regiment).

The Battle Dress uniform was standard issue to all British and Commonwealth troops during WW2. Designed in the 1930's, it drew many of its influences from the ski-wear of the era (the high waisted trousers and short blouse for example).

The hat is the Scottish Tam-O-Shanter, a trademark of most Scottish regiments.

Thanks mate.

I only carried the prop through security in Nice Airport. Odd sized lugage took care of the rest. And then home in a (long) cab.
Piece of cacke.
