M-43 Field Jackets

I couldn't find a thread on them so I started my own.

I love army jackets. I have small collection.

I posted my WWII M-43 on my blog and though I'd share it here too...

BTW, I sold my M-43 a few years ago. Sometimes I'll wear a Norwegian copy. Funny that they copied it stitch for stitch without adding improvements like a zipper.

I like the M-41 paratrooper jacket. ATF makes a decent repro.

I have one of their m-41's and it's not bad. finding a real paratrooper would be next to nil...

The M-43 is basically the forerunner of the M65, yes? The major difference being the concealed hood?

I've got 2 repop M-43's from ATF, and a Norwegian version, too...I love 'em all, even more than the M-41 (Parson's) jacket....

yes, basically. It also didn't have a zipper. Mine does, but that's not issue. they did have a hood that buttons on though.

Yeah I like the M43

Here is me with mine on. The M43 is a great jacket beacuse the way the pockets are made you can overstuff them with a lot. I really want the liner to go with it. I have the hood to go with it.

I am fortunate to have had a father-in-law(RIP) who kept all his uniforms from 1940 through 1946. The M-1943 has a few minor stains, but otherwise is in good shape. Marked a size 36,I was surprised that my size 40 body is not suffocated by it. It is comfortable and does allow adequate movement. There is a leather name tag similar to what you see on A-2's sewn to the
left side. The hood is in excellent condition.
