May be curious to know that the Soft Spinning Market (399 Lujiabang Lu) has a really good stall on the third floor (No. 340) that has a fantastic range of denim and canvas and a two-tailor team that is really good to work with. I've collected some bulletproof jeans and a rather fantastic shirt that are solid (they look every bit as thick and thoroughly stitched as a pair of Pike Bros which I own [and am not that impressed with as they're nice, etc., but the prices I feel are a wee bit steep], and set me back about thirty pounds per pair). They weren't even that fussed about asking if they could 'copy' them, as they reckoned they could meet the same standard fairly easily. After I've had these a few months, I'll update this in case I'm mistaken.
As the prices are very reasonable, I'm having them put together an overcoat in the thicker canvas that they stock which should be ready in two weeks.
