As to Grand Prix Press:

Of course, I would love for it to become the press for the vintage scene, but the only way to do that is by proving to the distributor that there's a market for what we do. I hate to say it, but I sent review material to over 150 media outlets (newspapers, magazines, radio), and the response was next to nil. Hell, the book is about mixology, cocktail culture, and is a COMEDY, and Modern Drunkard didn't even bother to reply, so I'd say it's a good indication of apathy in the media. And okay, so I'm the first to admit that Mixing Girls is no War and Peace - and it might not even be as funny as War and Peace (how many times does Bolkonsky die?) - but it is just about everything The Fedora Lounge is about, and the people I've known here for years couldn't be bothered to buy a copy, so I have to think, why should anyone else be interested. Everyone here complains "we're ignored by the mainstream" and then when they're given what they want, they don't want it. Am I griping as an author? No, I'm only griping as a publisher and "atavist" (but let's not open that again, Lizzie).

It includes a rather fun chapter about teenage merchant sailors in New York in wartime, with their tales of buying clothes. One sixteen year old from an English mining village tells the story of heading home to the UK with a blue 'beach suit', wide-brimmed panama hat and correspondent brogues. He hoped these would wow the girls in his home village. unfortunately his ship was sunk on the way home and he lost it all!
