I find myself looking for a long, black overcoat. I prefer to buy new for daily wear over the Winter. I find, however, that looking around online, there seems to be a surprising lacuna in menswear offerings of those sort of thing I'm after. All I want is a simple, double-******ed overcoat that comes down past the knee. It appears few places indeed that sell men's overcoats these days make quite what I'm after, most of them stopping well short of the knees...
I often buy reproduction milspec garments and adapt to civilian wardrobe, but the only options I can find that way in black are either leather (not what I'm after this time), or a little too obviously from 'the wrong side' for comfort.
Being familiar with their offerings, I'd be quite happy with one of the MilTec bridge coats (https://military.eu/en/p/mil-tec/mi...MIi4GF-snQlwMVJJtQBh0raxV2EAQYASABEgJdRPD_BwE ) if they get the length right... but does anyone have any idea whether these at least cover the knee?
If only Soldier of Fortune did their 1939 pattern British greatcoat in black! I bought one of those last year, and it's marvelous. Kept me nicely warm in Beijing last December.
