I've tried some "tattoo gel/cream" when I got them for free but for me Bepanthol is king!

Talking of healing, what does everybody use? I've used Bepanthol for years, also living in a very sunny place I protect, a lot of guys here I've known used coconut oil as it protects and enhances colour, thise old mariners knew what they were at when they figured coconut oil protects haha

Vaseline brand coco butter. It’s a touch of Vaseline and coco butter. I’ve used it on like 90% of mine and they’ve all healed so well. Love the stuff. There’s a few different formulas of it. But they all come

My arms and chest are covered in high quality Japanese artwork since I was nineteen. I'll be thirty this year and I absolutely hate and regret my tattoos. Maybe I am an outlier here, but I always advise my little cousins who like my ink to wait until they're a little older to really start collecting tattoos.

Wish I would have just invested the several thousand I blew on tats.

On a more positive note I feel badass wearing my vintage Schott 672HH.

Don’t beat yourself up over the tats. They look great and well done. I am going to seem strange saying this opinion (as I have sleeves also)- some people just should not have ink. You know who they are when you see it. You are NOT one of those people. It fits you well.

When it works, Saniderm/Dermashield is incredible.

No worrying about scabbing, lotioning, washing, bleeding lymph on clothes, etc…

I find it doesn’t work for all locations. For instance the elbows. Also spots where I’m super hairy, like my chest, didn't work well either. Had a lot of trouble with adhesion, and where it did stick, I was getting a lot of ingrown hairs.

I'm in one of those old-fashioned button-up professions, where appearing clean and sleak is part of the deal. I like wearing leather jackets when I'm not working because it gives me that edgy rugged look that I want, which is a huge contrast from my usual suit-and-tie look. I used to sport a long-hair undercut to go with the edgy look, but not anymore.

I had my artist put a test patch on some non-inked skin my last appointment just to rule out possible skin reaction before trying on a fresh tattoo. No reaction so I'll be going this route next time. Good to know about potential hair issues though, ty.

As much as I believe in taking care of one's skin in general and tattooed skin in particular, there is something to be said for the look of old and well settled ink. Really becomes a more organic looking part of the body. Not unlike a well worn jacket, a tattoo can certainly look worse then the day it's put in, but never will it look its best fresh...Instagram not withstanding.

It’s going great. I’ve worn it probably 90% of the time since I’ve gotten it.

I really love how the sleeves aren’t so tight on the newer fit j24, it gives them a bit more material to crease and really creates a beautiful ripple effect.

I’ll post some pictures soon. Really trying to squeeze out as many wears as I can before the summer hits

Being raised in a town with a lot of deep sea trawlermen east coast UK, when I was a teen in one of the savoury Dock front bars, one of the drunk old salts dropped his strides to show he had Popeye tattooed astride his fire hose legs either side and Popeyes hands gripping said fire hose haha he then went one to show he had eyes tattooed on his ass cheeks
