Leather defect Double Helix Deviant

Hello everyone, I've noticed that one of the leather parts of my Double Helix jacket is wearing out faster than the rest. It's as if the leather has suddenly become very soft and won't hold up as well as the rest.

For your information, I've been wearing this jacket for about two years now. It bothers me because it's quite expensive.

Does this seem normal to you?

Yes, I agree with you, but it doesn't happen on the other side, that's what's strange. On the other side, the leather hasn't moved at all!

This is not considered a defect. Some manufacturers use softer leather in such places of the jacket as armpits, sleeves. It is softer and more friable

Some people like it because it creates a vintage look for the jacket.

They intentionally color the leather only superficially to give a vintage look to the jacket. It's much cooler than when the jacket is always new.

As I understand it, you belong to the category of people who like a leather jacket to always look like new.

A large portion of the market segment of the past 5 years want a jacket that does exactly that and in most cases faster than 2 years. Plenty of info on different leathers and tanning processes here on tfl. Brew 2 gallons of coffee and lock yourself in a dark room over the weekend. Welcome to the nuthouse.
