As was stated in another "fashion" plate thread, it is also amazing how many of the men pictured in Golden Age ads are older, grey hair and all. It seems that the "seasoned" gent who had made it in the business world, was seen as the one who would have the inclination and money to truly be the "dapper man."

You rarely see such casual wear in pre-WWII magazines. And what kind of hat is that on the one of them? Looks like the fisherman hats that become popular towards the end of the 20th century.

Well, ribbed T-shirts to be exact, but T-shirts none-the-less! You just don't normally think of such "wardrobe" as being a part of that time frame.
