Johnson Leathers Horween 4 oz Black overdye Custom size 42 / 44

For sale is a custom Johnson Leather jacket made by Alan with 4+ oz Horween black overdye brown CXL steer hide. Black overdye is what the Japanese makers have coined teacore. The hide is heavier than Aero’s CXL horsehide. This jacket was made for a fellow lounger while I was going through, the fit process with Alan for my speedway. Alan used the same hide from the same batch on my speedway, I had Alan send the leather for my jacket out to be shived down to 3 oz. When I received this jacket, it appeared unworn. I wore it maybe 6 times walking my dog. It is still stiff and will require breaking in. I did exercise the buttonholes so the jacket can be buttoned. This is my option a hansom design with excellent detailing and stitching. The stitching is showcased with contrasting brown thread. My issues with the jacket are the heavy stiff leather and the sleeves are long for me. The long sleeves coupled with the double layer of 4 oz leather at the cuff, making for stiff cuffs. The cuffs brother me rubbing on the back of my hands when walking. I have 30+ jackets I can wear and just not up to breaking this one in. It cost the original owner close to $1,200. Besides I am making room for in incoming Ralphs Pugh

I believe with wear this jacket will develop nice graining. Graining is starting on the sleeves and my speedway with maybe 20 wearings has developed some pronounced graining.

Wow, I really like that design! Too big for me(I'm a 40), but that is cool enough that I would consider having JL make one in my size. I think goatskin would be an excellent hide choice.

I would not have put inside pockets in a jacket this heavy and stiff with the button front due to creasing. I do not have an inside pocket in my JL speedway
