Howdy folks, long time lurker first time poster. The other week I picked up this lovely vintage motorcycle jacket from a vintage clothing street fair that was happening near me and I've been unable to identify it.
The jacket weighs 8 pounds, has a scovill zipper and scovill snaps. The lower back is double padded and has side gussets for laces (which are missing). The tag in the front pocket is worn away and has no remnants of information. The care tag is still present on the inside, which is the main identifier leading me to believe this jacket may be a Schott. As this tag resembles the one in my Schott 674.
Only paid $180 canadian for this so if its not a schott that's alright by me, as it fits me perfectly like no other leather jacket I've owned has before. The price was $200 but haggled it down since the zipper was frayed at the bottom near the pin. When I got it home I reconstructed the missing fabric and its been holding up perfectly. Reconditioned the dry spots of the leather and it's ready to wear once fall weather arrives here.
Anyway the reason I'm having such difficulty identifying this jacket is my limited knowledge on vintage leather jackets in general. I've found a few schott jackets that looks somewhat similar but I know aren't exact matches.
Any help or information you fine folk could provide would be most appreciated.
Cheers
