Is this vintage LL bean a bad buy?

I don’t particularly care to own a genuine military piece. I’m primary looking for quality and design. The measurements are suitable for me. And I think I can just polish in the white spots with some kiwi. The cuffs and the knit looked to be in reasonable condition. Is this a bad buy at this price or am I overpaying?

It's an ok price for what it is. Quality should be mid, whether that's what you want or not, would be up to you.

Thanks. I just want to make sure it’s not an obviously bad purchase. I’m not huge on history , just a reasonably well made jacket for the price

Depends on the quality built-in by the maker. I have an excellent LL Bean Goatskin A-2 "Pseudo-Replica" and it has side "hand-warmer" pockets inset just at the sides of the front patch pockets, but not terribly visible as are all separate "slash" style handwarmer pockets. I kinda like this feature but certainly will give "Purists" a heart attack.

LLB has offered many such jackets, with/without various non-GI features. Depends on price, materials, condition, fit, and personal preference.
