Is this jacket too long?

Yes indeed I’ve not messed with the length which was also Carries advice based on my fit pics.

So based on her recommendations/my fit pics I’ve gone with the following sizing:

Size 36 with 1 inch added to each side (this should increase waist/bottom hem circumference by 2 inches total)

SLEEVE LENGTH- 26 inches (fit jacket is 26 inches)

BODY LENGTH- __as per fit jacket _ (fit jacket is 26.25 inches)

The rest is probably not everyones cup of tea but I wanted something a little bit different with this jacket.
  1. Black Vicenza Horsehide - Grainy
  2. Dark Seal Brown Knits
  3. Light Tan contrast stitching
  4. All pockets are lined with moleskin
  5. Nickel Talon zipper
  6. Sateen Wine lining
  7. No Inside Pocket
  8. No epaulets
  9. Aero Rock and Roll Label/Thurston Bros Label
That’s going to be really cool according to your specs, great choices but, size 36?? That’s 5 sizes smaller than you were last year, isn’t it? Epic weight drop!

I would like to say I’m the shrinking man but my weights pretty much stabilised now (running 10km a day helps as well), I’m being guided entirely by Carrie in regard to sizing , I did question the size 36 thing though as I told her I didn’t want any slimmer than the fit jacket (which was a size 40 Bronco A2 )which I felt fit well, her reply was as below:

“the Happy Days just runs so large that everyone is really sizing down. Wade wears a size 42 in the Bronco and it fits just like the 40 Bronco was on you. A size 38 Happy Days with the extra width in the waist is perfect for him, so your Happy Days order sizing is lining up just right!”

I’m guessing Carrie has seen more of these jackets than anyone else especially on real people so I trust her judgment on the sizing.

I would say that it's an inch too long for me, but it also looks ok so it's your call. As for sizing, the size doesn't matter as much as the measurements do. Go by those.

Yes your correct tag size doesn’t mean much on these jackets it’s all about the pattern/measurements

The last time I ran 10km was.... actually I've never run more than 100 meters and the last time I ran that far was around 1983. Yep, the Happy Days is a large jacket, I'm about the same size as Wade and I need a 38 too. Great work Thuggee.

Yeah, the Happy Days runs two sizes large with 24" ptp in a size 40.

As for running 10 km every day... I run 6 km every other day and I don't think I could ever be bothered to do any longer, mostly because it is boring as hell. Do you listen to music or how do you make the time pass?

yes have to agree with you there it’s boring as hell , I don’t have the time to run 10km all at once each day so I split it into 2 sessions my day typically starts on the treadmill AirPod Pros and iPad for a 5Km run it, once I’m immersed in a tv show or movie I barely notice I’m sweating my arse off, the evenings I do another 5km on the road helps me unwind from my day once again AirPods pro and my Garmin 645 music loaded with Spotify.

Thanks everyone, I’ve ended up going with Carries advice regarding the jackets length , now the wait I guess it could be months before Aero are back up and running again

The lockdown was originally to be reviewed after three weeks, but the way the law is set up it will carry on unless the government decide to renew it. Without getting into the politics of it, at this ponit in time it seems inevitable that it will be extended and we'll see greater enforcement.
