I wanted to share my experience with a maker I found on IG, IPCRESS, based out of Tokyo. Casually scrolling when I ran across what I thought looked to be the absolute best Levi’s Longhorn suede type 3 I’d ever seen. I had to have one. An original for me is essentially out of the question. I’ve never seen one in a larger size and the condition is often undesirable.
The shop is a one man operation run by an absolutely delightful fellow, Satoshi Abe. I have thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and working with him was an absolute pleasure! He is a generous and humble man with a tremendous amount of talent and skill.
I chose a dark brown roughout Longhorn jacket with 3cm added to the collar length, no change to the back length and 1” to the sleeves. Otherwise a stock 44”. It was delivered to me exactly as I had hoped. The cost of the jacket was $600 and that included shipping to my door in 3 days. Total project time was 2 months and I have the honor of being the first US customer.
The leather itself is beautiful. A fuzzy thick roughout in the 3oz range. It has body to it for sure but drapes wonderfully without a trace of stiffness. The construction is neat and solid. Stitched evenly and consistently throughout. I am in love with it and will soon purchase another in black sheepskin. I can’t say enough good things. This guy is one to watch.
To the pics!
