I was a lurker before joining and mostly a lurker now. My lack of Hi-tech savvy also regulates that I mostly remain a lurker. Also I was taught that I would learn more by keeping my eyes and ears open and my mouth shut. So if no one minds I'll just lurk and learn from y'all.

In Praise of FL Lurkers

Well, unregistered lurkers can't read The Observation Bar, therefore, only registered lurkers can read this thread, so I presume these praises will only reach very few lurkers :eusa_doh:

BTW some of the bigger lurkers are so big because their email addresses were not accepted - I don't see the point of this policy - ergo they are condemned to be forever lurkers. :(

It took me forever to join the lounge because of email issues. I finally contacted MK and worked something out.

The problem I believe has to do with certain email providers being the favorites of spammers. The result as I understand it is because of the policy we tend to have very little spam type postings crop up in the Lounge. I for one get enough spam in my email accounts that offers sleaze and Nigerian banking schemes, I'd prefer not to have to see that here.

I lurked forever and then I joined and now I think I've more than made up for it :p

And how! Considering both your postcount and date of accession (a whopping 4.594 posts in seven month!) makes me feel somewhat...uh...lurksome... :eeek:

But then it took you roughly 4.580 posts before you stepped forward and actually posted a photo of yourself in the WAYWT thread - but post you did! :eusa_clap :D

I put the blame mostly on a couple of loungers that shall remain unnamed in the temp thread for that obnoxious number ;)

You are too sweet Mario  Thank you :)

I've come out of my lurker-dom.....but may continue to lurk till I find my footing....

have you ever typed or said or read a word so many times it doesn't seem like a real word any more.... lurk has become one of those words...

I've been lurking for awhile now. I'm a bit intimidated by all of you wonderful people! :) Give me awhile and I'll slowly start to post more, and then you'll probably wish I would go back to my lurkdom. ;)

Any other FL lurkers from Virginia? I see all these wonderful events but they are all so far away and I don't yet have the means to make it all the way to California. One day....

I must confess to being a "Lurker" these past years but I consider myself more of a "student" here at TFL. I've enjoyed reading the opinions, encouragement and camaraderie that permeates most of the treads ... thanks to many of the members I've actually begun wearing my hats here in Southern California where I rarely see anyone wear a hat. One thing that I've learned to admire from all of the "non-lurkers" is to embrace our "individuality" and shared love of hats ... I hope this year, to be much more active in contributing to TFL and I have many here to thank for that change of heart.
