How to wear a Full length Leather Jacket ?

As a young man I was once a massive fan of Matrix movie and bought a HH Gestapo full length coat on eBay from a collector in Germany.

Problem is I couldn’t wear it to work, and I couldn’t wear it to supermarket without looking like an idiot.

So I resorted to having some midnight walks in the neighborhood in that coat when most normal people had gone to bed and pretend to enjoy looking badass. Oh I paired it with a beanie hat which wasn’t very a very authentic military look.

One begger shouted to me ‘the war is over mate’

I sold that coat when I was mature enough to realize the only occasion for it is for some fancy dressing party.

Someone on here posted a few pictures with a nice jacket, and well fitting.

Hmm, I'd get it shortened to 27" - 29" and wear it whenever. The length is too much IMHO - you could wear it with lighter-coloured trousers and a collared shirt, I think, (this would make it look more like an afterthought than a 'look') but it is too long as is. On the other hand, provided you are not concerned what people think, wear it however you like.

It's not too long. The left hand pocket above the button and the right hand pocket sitting lower is what bugs me about the look.

Hi Aero - After watching comments I would have to agree. Sadly I love the jacket. But now after seeing your photo will be on the search for one similar to the one your wearing. Good Choice !
I was just being funny, hope you understand that here.

I did own (for one day) a very heavy leather duster that I picked up second hand in a distant city. Unfortunately, I had just left the store and noted it had a very strong odor of smoke in it. I wound up donating it when I arrived back into Iowa.
