Yeah I have, had and sold better suede’s no doubt. It’s one of those horse shoe jackets that I can’t figure out if it’s close enough or not. Wearing it…it feels big so it’s likely going to eBay. Already licking wounds with a denim 70’s Penny’s type 3. I have jeans from this era. “Plain pockets”. It’s great stuff.Decent fit for everyone else; not so good for your standards.
Looks like a 100$ jacket yeah, enjoy! Add fit pics
Might be a boys jacket, judging by the absence of back gussets? A women's jacket would have had the zipper to the opposite side.It is a female size (20) but I can’t see anything about it that’s different from a male jacket

The collection is filling up... (a few more on the second rack not pictured).

Is that a Mulholland just laying on the floor? Lmao. I know it's fine there; it's a leather jacket, not a bone china tea set, just funny to me is all. Especially considering how prim and proper the others are stored. The collection is filling up... (a few more on the second rack not pictured).

So I just received my ELMC Californian and I have to say it's lived up to my expectations! The leather on this is fantastic. It feels like the leather that Vicenza wants to be. It makes the jacket very comfortable and easy to wear. I usually feel like half belts fit me weirdly but this one feels and looks real nice. Some quick fit pics. Also coming next week: ELMC Californian in Havana Brown, picked up during the ongoing clearance sale.

I reckon it wouldn't hurt to bring it up with the vendor, their page says "All are new, unworn, and complete with factory warranty." Worst they can do is say no, personally I would be a little bit bothered with it.So I just received my ELMC Californian and I have to say it's lived up to my expectations! A few things to note:
1. I thought I would be getting a unibody collar, this was not the case. I can't say for certain, but it seems there may be different specs depending on the ELMC stockist, so do check beforehand if it's a deal-breaker for you.
2. The sleeves are trim at the upper arm and loose at the cuff. While it doesn't affect the comfort, it does make the sleeve look more tubular and not very tapered-looking.
No big deal... It's still a great jacket and I think it fits the bill of what I'm looking for at the moment.
However...
I noticed that the stitching near the collar isn't so perfect. There is a line of empty stitch holes at the top of the splay collar. The edge where this happened is also significantly thicker than the other side that was stitched perfectly.

Upon further inspection, I found that the stitching had missed the leather that was folded in and it is able to be pulled out from the seam, exposing more stitches. I'm not trying to poke holes at it but I wonder if this would be exacerbated with more use.

Still, it sucks but it's not a deal-breaker. I can live with it and be perfectly happy wearing the jacket. I'm still in love with it and don't want to let something small like this ruin it for me but I was just curious to see what the lounge thinks. I got it a great deal but even then, after paying close to a grand, is it something I should overlook?
I also want to point out that the folks I got this jacket from have been great to work with and very accommodating thus far.
Would you guys consider this a big enough flaw to the point of wanting to return it?
Through the years Eastman experimented with different ways of doing the collar on their Californian. I owned half a dozen of these, the oldest ones were folded over, newer ones had a French seam, my newest one (black) only has a single topstitch.I thought I would be getting a unibody collar, this was not the case. Yea I've reached out and based on the same photos I posted here, their initial assessment is that it isn't a defect. They've agreed to look further into it though, so I sent a short video to provide more clarity.I reckon it wouldn't hurt to bring it up with the vendor, their page says "All are new, unworn, and complete with factory warranty." Fit looks fantastic by the way, hopefully you can come to an agreement with them.
I see. That's good to know! Didn't realise they have been changing construction methods. The only pictures I've seen are on Instagram and on TFL and most if not all of them have the more streamlined unibody construction which I prefer.Through the years Eastman experimented with different ways of doing the collar on their Californian.
That's a good idea. Thanks Marc. Not something I'd expect to do on a brand new jacket but it may fix the problem, if it comes to that.I think it's easy easy to fix, just glue it back in place. Make sure to use leather glue which is flexible.
