Thanks much!

Shipped today. Pre-Brexit I would have gotten it Tuesday-ish. Now - who knows. I have to say, seeing the photo makes me enjoy the jacket even now!
Curious if I specced the length right. Looks like a mighty front-drop…

@Salmosalar When I ordered my two Badalassi jackets back in 2018 I was asking Aero (the owner Ken) directly if they do have stock or if they are willing to source it - they eventually had old stock and I ordered.

Always worth having a chat with Aero directly - they often have some interesting hides about that might not make it onto the website, as they don't like to put stuff on there where there's not guaranteed stock. AFAIK, they don't do Shinki because they couldn't get a guarantee of the sort of quantity of a batch they need, though they did do a couple of test jacket in it. I believe @Sloan1874 has one?

I have a homemade Clash Harrington. I’ll have to take some pics of it. For being cheap homemade it ain’t bad at all. I hear Barracutas are some of the best as far as Harrington’s go. Classic Skinhead and Mod look. Both of those in the good and original context not what they both later devolved into it.

The Baracuta G9 is *the* original "Harrington". (As you're doubtless aware, the Harrington name came from a character who wore one on the Peyton Place TV show; it was John Simons of the Ivy Shop in London who dubbed them "Harrington" jackets unofficially, and the name stuck worldwide!

The G9 is a really nice jacket, though can be pricey - fully retail is around £250 these days, though if you're lucky you can find them for nearer £100 in sales.

The G9 first hit the market in 1937, and they've been popular every decade since - I see 'em worn in London by skinheads, punks, rockabillies... Probably the most famous London wearing one in the last 20 years was the late Amy Winehouse (RIP, tragic loss, such a talent). Given their longevity and popularity, they're probably the most flexible thing in my wardrobe... I love 'em with a 50s-style 2" brim fedora or porkpie, collar and tie, slacks - 'casual Sinatra' look. Equally great with denims and boots as an alternative to leather on a drizzly Summer day. :)

I really like how Thedi have found their own design niche. The labels I find most interesting - Aero and Thedi among them - have that distinct house 'style'. Thedi really did come into an already busy marketplace and do their own thing. I really do like this sort of mid-length jacket; I might wel lend up with a Thedi some day.

Purchased this repro AfrikaKorps M40 field jacket by Mil-Tec, no patches on it of course. If it weren't for the white trim on the epaulettes, you could easily mistake it for a safari jacket. I find it a better cut than the field jackets worn by the Allied forces, which had a roomier waist, and thus boxier in shape:

I'm always a one for adding carefully chosen military repop pieces, sometimes dyed, to my wardrobe. Can be a great way to get something nice vastly cheaper than a lot of quality repro clothing. I think if you possibly removed the epaulettes and switched the buttons out for something more civilian looking (those pebbled German military buttons are a little bit of a giveaway), nobody would be any the wiser. To my eye, that aside, it doesn't "look Nazi" for want of a better way of putting it... There wasn't a huge shift in the style of much military gear worn in either West Germany or the DDR during the immediate post-war decades (the badges, obvs, but...).

It's leather. It's 70s. Leonardo di Caprio wore it in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'. Am I going to wear it? Probably not. But it certainly looks like a nice jacket to have so I bought it :)

I just wish Wrangler would do a straight repop of Pitt's jacket... They do do a version of it, but it is buttons now not the original zip - studs wouldn't be a dealbreaker, mind, but the body being elongated and them playing around with the arm shape does bother me. Such a great denim design, such a pity they will not do an accurate repop!

I've been looking at something similar from Carhartt, equally not sure if it's me - though objectively it's a nice design.

The Hercules was a fairly long design originally (long by 50s standards anyway), you‘ll be fine!

Are these Sendra? Looks like their banner-badge on the heel. I've seen a lot of this style of boot around of late. They very much put me in mind of the sort of thing Bob Dylan was wearing circa 1967. I'm coming to rather like this slightly-western but less 'fancy' look myself.

Incoming. FOUND ONE! After searching for nearly TWO YEARS, one comes up on yahoo! Japan auctions in my size. According to the listing, it was a 2000 or 2001 model -- I don't know how long these were produced, but to find something that old in this condition is pretty much never going to happen again.

Super excited to finally scratch this one off my want list. It was my birthday two days ago, and I just landed a personal grail jacket.

Auction listing pics below, if all goes well I should have it in about two weeks:
