How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

It had an ugly crease starting from the neck all the way to the bottom hem. I wetted the front panel with hot water before placing those weights onto it to flatten the crease.

The collar was crooked and totally flat. Again I used hot water to reshape it. When fully dried up it should keep this nice mustache shape.

that crease pattern is the jacket's natural pattern when worn open though, you see the other side of the chest with zippered chest pocket have different pattern, it is the reason I like slant sip on both chest, it will avoid that vertical fold

@Jin431 Did you see this one a member had posted in the classifieds a little while back? In Battered Steerhide, looked amazing.

I saw that and leather is so nice, lots of pull up with different tones of color it's amazing. Im imagining the new leather Seal Kelpie will look like this after some wear (maybe?) because it's teacore. The only thing I don't get with the Aero trucker is the cut of the jacket pattern, the listed measurement is 20.2 chest (close enough for me as 20.5" is my ideal) with an 18.75 shoulder (too big with 17.5" as my ideal). So I would have to go custom again if I order from Aero.

Sounds interesting, have you ordered anything in their Badalassi already?
I do love Badalassi myself. I have a Tobacco brown Bootlegger and have an order of a sheene/hwm hybrid in black badalassi coming soon.

I'm thinking it's between the russet badalassi vs Seal Kelpie whenever I get the trucker.

The Aero trucker cut is very square. I'll have to measure again tonight, but from memory the shoulder measurement on my 42 seems plenty, maybe 18"-19" which is normally fine. However the way the sleeves are attached doesn't allow a lot of give, and the impression I get is of tightness at the shoulders.

In many ways its the opposite of the new Vanson I got which has action back, underarm footballs, slightly curved sleeves positioned for a degree of forward movement etc. The shoulder only measures 17.5 but there's no feeling of pressure on my outer shoulder pushing against the top of the sleeve like I get with the Aero trucker.

One caveat is my trucker is made of robust "tan/tanned steerhide" which will take a long time to really break in.

Midwestern Sport Togs Black Deerskin Pullover came in.

I wasn’t sure if I would like it, and had started to feel buyers remorse before arrival. Heck a leather shirt? What was I thinking?

Upon opening the package all I was kinda blown away. It is far nicer than I expected! My first experience with deerskin. The leather is very pliable with pleasing thickness and texture. It’s lined with satin and has a side zip for closure, along with the laces at the front.

Fit feels perfect.

That's great info about the Aero trucker, maybe that's why they only offer that pattern in a midweight leather now. Could be a handful in a stiff/heavy cxl or similar hide. I think Badalassi would work for that kind of pattern, although going for JL couldn't hurt too and I'm sure the cut will have good range of motion.
The hide they used for your jacket is no joke, it's so beautiful though!

*Love the deerskin pullover! Now that's something we don't see here often!

Popped by the NYC Schott store over the weekend, and tried on a new Type 2 horsehide jacket they had (P620H).

This is size M (I'm 6', ~175 pounds). Fits well, I think.

I do want to own a trucker style type 2 or 3 jacket at some point, but have been waffling on the fit. It's supposed to bit boxier, but the arms always feel so loose.

What bugs me most about schotts version is the uneven spacing between the buttons:

Here are my thoughts on how a type 3 should fit (I like the original short and boxy fit best):

Yeah don’t remember which post but someone said they were told by Aero that they don’t like to do the trucker in their heavier leathers anymore

*Thanks Jin!

Love that pullover @Mrfrown !!!

Thanks HM!

that's about as good as you can get on a stock Schott. I'm 10 lbs heavier than you, so I either have to squeeze into a medium or usually I buy the large and shrink it down a half size with some "hand vintaging" lol.

I'm not a big fan of this button style, otherwise I would have been all in on one of these eventually or the type 3 version. The 100 series leather is probably my favorite for overall comfort, feel, etc. Doesn't seem to develop into a grainy monster or anything, but gets softer and softer while still being hefty.

Is 100 series the name for Schott's mid weight horse hide?

It did feel pretty nice in person. Smooth, soft and casual even off the rack, which fits the vibe of trucker jackets pretty well I think.
