How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Already getting delay notices on the Vanson. This sweet pic of a worn Vanson collab in the z150 getting me pumped up. Found it over on a old long thread from Styleforum

These vintage long HB’s are more forgiving with regard to length. I loved the shorter one Marc bought but that length is just too short for me and so many of the traditional HB’s hit me in just the same way.

I am not the biggest fan of half belts but I think they look better in a long hb configuration. Although if I ever do fall for the pattern I know I won't have fit issues (in terms of back length anyways) with vintage jackets. Is Windward a fancy maker from a long time ago?

Catalog maker. Like Hercules was to Sears, Windward was to Montgomery Wards. Both Chicago based retail catalog houses. Montgomery Wards finally giving up the ghost in the late 80’s I believe, and Sears still limping along as a much diluted version of its previous self.

Now I get why you have affinity to those makers since it's Chicago based. Thanks for sharing

@Blackadder got it, I thought you were on the hunt for one but that haul makes it more than enough straight zip chp style jacket

I always wanted a black badalassi jacket, @Robbie79 has one that he should be wearing more of (I do understand the issues with jacket rotation lol)

I'm sure we will not be disappointed with the leather. Good luck with the Hercules order @Tom71

This is me. Super excited on this project.

Black Badalassi with Grey or Black "Wild Card" lining.
It's a 4 pocket cafe racer w/ August collar (Sheene) with hwm details.
Zip sleeve like a cafe racer.
Nickel hardware Talon.
Chest pocket (ring pull) slanted like the board racer.
Hand warmers with bell pull zippers (close position towards the waistband).
No internal/external kidney panel.
No hwm yoke but w/ shoulder gusset (basically 1 piece back like how I like it).
Hidden size tag.
Thunder Bay label.
Steer hide label to bottom hem.
Internal pocket with snap.

How did you like it? I want a Badalassi FL jacket but at this rate I won't get it until next Fall.
Hi Jin - this sounds really great, but I don't see black badalassi on their website - is it a TB special and/or an Aero direct option? Thanks for the heads-up!

@Salmosalar When I ordered my two Badalassi jackets back in 2018 I was asking Aero (the owner Ken) directly if they do have stock or if they are willing to source it - they eventually had old stock and I ordered. A couple of months later they finally decided to re-stock tobacco and russet Badalassi. In the above case with black Badalassi they ordered a small batch (as far as I know) and if it turns out that there is regluar/high customer demand they consider to re-order for regular production @Jin431 As you know the details regarding black Badalassi, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, if I was you, I would directly ask them if they do have remaining stock for making a jacket for you.
Cheers,
Robbie

Thanks Robbie! I have dropped them a line directly, on your advice - I will update folks on here if/when I hear back, unless Jin already has the info to hand and gets there first - cheers!

Nice! As far as I know @Tom71 has also ordered a black Badalassi Hercules, ie I guess/hope that they do have enough hides left to make you a jacket. Good luck!

@Salmosalar it is not readily available through Aero "yet", my friend @Robbie79 nailed everything down. Aero ordered a small batch of the black badalassi, which should be delivered in 5 weeks. They will make a small number of "test" jackets from that hide, you can reserve a slot if you want just ask Holly at Aero about it. If the leather is up to their standards then we can expect it to offered regularly.

Not much to add here. Got my order in a few days ago. Will be some time, but I am really looking forward to this.

Hi folks - I contacted them directly too, and have adjusted an order I have queued up already, to switch the leather over to the black badalassi - hopefully this will work out well and maybe there will be enough interest for them to add it to their portfolio more permanently - I will send in photos to share when the new jacket finally arrives - fingers crossed!

@technovox @ton312 received the Kelpie samples today. I took photos late in the day so the lighting is not the best, here they are anyways.

@Jin431 Thanks for the pics. I'm most interested in the Seal.
I know it's hard to get an idea from a small sample as to how it looks on a jacket, but any thoughts about the hide? How does it compare to CXL in thickness and suppleness?

You bet, I'll take more photos tomorrow too so it's easier to see the color under natural lighting. The seal to me looks like a rich chocolate medium dark brown. The hand feel feels like a true midweight leather (atleast to me anyways). It was somewhat stiff when i first received it but nowhere near CXL's stiffness and it also feels more supple probably from the processing (this is a combination tanned leather, they initially chrome tan it then will get a vegetable re-tan). I believe you are familiar with Horween Vermont, I don't have a way of measuring the actual thickness but to me the Kelpie is just a little bit thicker/stiffer than that. I've scrunched it up and put it in my pocket and noticed there is a little pull up, this leather feels like it should tunnel/crease/roll quite nicely.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I had the Horween Vermont (JL Jacket) but it was always just a little too thin for my taste. With the temperate climate around here, the Vicenza has been a perfect weight/thickness. And it sounds like the Kelpie might just hit that sweet spot- thick but not too stiff and heavy like the CXL.
I sent Aero an email asking about the Kelpie hide a while ago, and never heard back from them. Absolutely nothing. Very frustrating. I've kind of given up finding a decent mid-weight hide from them. And maybe they don't need any more business.
Meanwhile, looking forward to seeing more pics.

I haven't owned a Vicenza yet but I did have a test jacket from Thurston Bros and I feel they are fairly similar in thickness.
Holly at Aero is on vacation so that's probably why, Christina is the one helping out with orders until Holly gets back on Monday.

I got more photos here too. The Seal Kelpie looks nicer in my opinion, it has some lighter brown and reddish brown undertones depending on the lighting. The Dark Green is almost dark brown, the green is there but it's hard to see unless it's under direct sunlight although it has more pull up and is waxier. I'll tag @handymike here is the swatch sample of the new Aero leather
