well... I was planning a crosszip several time, been trying to draw some, but too much asymmetrical in the design overloads me... so I dose it down to this frankenstyle aviation-biker jacket, it has a wide windflap and less symmetrical collar and sleeve pocket.. maybe it will unwind my taste a little.
This maybe is going to be my final or semi final jackets. HOPEFULLY
it has 3 collar modes... training myself to like a collared thing too..
It arrived yesterday, with an air of mystery about it. The label places it in the mid-1970s, but it does not appear to have been worn but maybe two or three times, and is really like new. Even the liner is immaculate. I will post a review and fit pix as soon as the outdoor temperature is down and my self-esteem is up.This looks very much like the cafe racer I had for a couple of years. around 2003ish-2005ish, when I decided it wasn't really the style for me and went looking for something else... (I'd wanted a leather jacket that was less 'statement' than a Perfecto type to wear to the office, but I never quite cared for the look of the mandarin collar with a shirt collar and tie.) Mine was ,as memory serves, branded as Route 66 or something along those lines, and the zip-out body-warmer was quilted nylon rather than fleecy. All black. Otherwise, though, a very similar design, especially the pockets zipped handwarmers only), and those very distinctive yokes from the shoulder and right down the front, reminiscent of the front yoke shape on one of the Aero Hercules patterns. Quite a nice jacket, as I recall; even had three studs at the neck, one each for two different fits at the neck, and a third to allow the collar tab to be studded back in on itself out of the way when the jacket was worn open. Definitely on a quality par with the Schott; I did wonder if them made it (I seem to remember it had a 'made in USA' claim on the label).

Ok. I just bought this:
Let's see what arrives in a few days. We may have a new entry for the Show Us Your Blue Leather Jackets thread.

Pretty well the same jacket but no hand warmers, no front yoke, two chest pockets, no arm zippers, side zippers instead of laces. With single point rear yoke and 3 pin stripes.
Inbound in one month from friendly Oregon.
LOOOL. That's a low blow?Or the bar across the street perhaps...
I bought this and I can't even begin to understand why (it was cheap). 7.5lb Two tone cross zip with some really odd embroidery and front yoke. I looked at it two days ago and couldn't have hated it more. All of the sudden it's in my purchased pile and due Friday. It'll hold me over while my Vanon does it's world tour.
