How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

The jacket I ordered from Japan arrived today. The proxy process is very simple, and the international shipping was extremely fast. The slowest process was waiting for my jacket to actually arrive at the proxy warehouse from the original seller. It's steerhide, and I believe the maker is Sugar Cane. The leather shows a fair amount of wear, but the jacket is still very stiff and rigid, which is just what I was looking for. There are a number of nice deals for jackets in smaller sizes on sites like Yahoo Japan, so I'm definitely going to check it again if I decide to switch up my jackets.

It landed today. Tried it on (zipped it wrong for the pics, don’t kill me please I noticed I didn’t put the end of the zipper properly) and the fit is so good! Was very worried about the sleeves lenght.

The sleeves are very tapered. This is the end game. This deerskin is amazing! It’s so luxurious and soft. Now it’s hidden away until Christmas day.

Perhaps seems a little bit weird at a first glance but I think it's a masterpiece without similar competitors (leather + shearling + nylon) out there.

Details
Masculine flight model in a blend of fabrics: The down blouson 'Cockpit' is a jacket with character that has been made by biker label BELSTAFF in soft shearling in a vintage design, waxed microfibre and grained calf leather – style with cargo trousers and boots for a really cool look.
  • Waxed microfibre
  • Sleeves made of soft lambskin in a used look
  • Warm down lining
  • Slim fit
  • Robust two-way zip
  • Turn-down collar with shearling trim
  • Undercollar with pin buckle
  • Zip pocket on the upper sleeve with BELSTAFF logo
  • Front pockets with flap in grained calf leather
  • Comfortable ribbed bands
  • Lining made of shearling and microfibre
That jacket seems schizophrenic to me. A mix of North Face puffy and distressed hipster leather.

Nice, I have a similar Sugar Cane half belt in steerhide and really like it.

@willyto Congratulations! Your new Freewheelers Sunset looks fabulous and the fit is perfect...I know the fit of Japanese makers is sometimes tricky.

Beautiful...and a perfect fit to boot! Congrats!

(That's the one thing I don't like about those zippers. Hopefully you were able to unzip with no issues)

Thank you!

At first I was like “Oh, ****! I’ve broken the zipper or it came broken and I didn’t see it in the pics” but then understood that you need to put the pin deep into the female side and zips perfectly. I was able to zip and unzip safely doing it wrong though, weird thing!

Very nice! Perfect fit. Who is the maker?

Thank you! It’s a Freewheelers Sunset (Bootleggers label) in deerskin like the one @dudewuttheheck has.

Second hand so already tanned a bit and with some marks, stains and creases that I don’t mind.

Thanks! Yeah that zipper scared me real good. Now that I know how it works I will use it properly.

In the end it was around 900€ shipped including customs (256€ ouch!!) but I don’t think I’d ever pay more than that for any jacket. Diminishing returns and all that.

Love the jacket and fit but the mustache game is stronger! Up top!

Thank you! 6 years and counting now with it.

I was a bit scared because it was a big investment and the second hand market for such niche brands is unknown to me in case it went wrong.

Fortunately it fits as I expected and it will be worn a lot. It’s a fantastic crosszip with a fun leather to wear and feels like wearing a comfortable pyjama. Doesn’t feel restrictive or stiff at all and the leather is soft and spongy, very fine touch to the hand but at the same time looks and feels tough.

I’ll wear it with shirt/ties, knitwear and dress trousers but also with denim, corduroy and work shirts. Versatile jacket!

Not surprised to see you have a few from them!

Good to know and look forward to your assessment. Thanks!
Got the Bronson tanker jacket and man, i love it. The construction and materials are very good. I don't know on the long run but it's definitly a great jacket and as an old WW2 reenacter, i'm usually very picky when it comes to this kind of stuff. To be honest, i have never purchased a single repro but this i can wear everyday :D

Fantastic to hear. I’m looking at their Tanker and B-10...from all accounts they are nearly as good as Buzz but for a fraction of the cost. Thanks for sharing your pictures and comments. This basically seals the deal. And really I may end up getting both the tanker and B-10 considering even with both and shipping costs still cheaper than getting just one from Buzz.

Well I broke my own "12 step promise" today , despite declaring the closet to be "as full as an egg" (again !)
Bought this NEUW black leather " faux shearling" lined jacket from ebay Australia. Looks OK in the seller photos.
It was a bit of a bargain (if it fits as labelled L !) BUT do I need a "shearling" lined jacket in Perth WA ? Hell no !
I just got intrigued by such jackets on the lounge (as you do !). Apparently the lining is 100% cotton.
REAL LEATHER label (ominous ?) and made in India so we shall see.
It will be interesting to see what "the cognoscenti" on the lounge reckon ?

Lol, I think I know what you mean. I am not looking for comp weight in a trucker, but if it feels paper thin it will be released post haste...:)

Here are a few pictures of the RMC B3 which I recently bought from @John Lever (many thanks again, very smooth and friendly "transaction" and communication).
This is definitely my Winter grail jacket and belongs to personal 3 favorite leather jackets/coats! It's a piece of art and I haven't handled a leather jacket with higher quality or at least the same as Freehweelers. The B3 jacket is in nearly new condition for that price if you consider that a new one costs about 3500€! Even if I don't have a comparison with other high quality B3 makers like Eastman, Aero, LW, etc. I can't imagine that it can get any better than this one - according to John the quality of these RMC NZ ones is even better than the new ones. Anyway, I'm really impressed and it's a shame that the temperature is that high at the moment (10-12C). If was really concerned about the actual fit as I normally wear size 40 (RMC and FW) and this is a size 42 but the fit is rather tight in the chest and waist area than loose. What do you guys think? Keeper or put on Classifieds?
Cheers,
Robbie
P.S. I forgot to open the two leather straps when take pictures as I guess the right way to wear it is with opened leather belts
