I know it's a relatively new leather but does anybody have any experience with Horween Aspen horsehide?
I have some swatches on the way, but was wondering if anyone has a full jacket in it yet.
Here's a new Schott example in a pre-distressed Aspen Dark Brown:

From The Tannery Row:
Horween Aspen is a newly developed, double-front horsehide leather, tanned and finished in Chicago, IL. It is a full-grain, 100% vegetable tanned leather in a 4-5oz. weight, making it an ideal thickness for luggage and other durable goods. While inspired by the classic European “Vachetta” style, which is smooth and firm, Aspen offers a distinctly American twist. It is much softer, with a round hand and a natural light pebbling. The surface is finished with a light glaze that gives the hides a rich lustre with some extra shine.
2.5-3.5 oz (1-1.4 mm): Natural, Dark Brown, Black
4-5 oz (1.6-2 mm): Cognac, Dark Brown, Burgundy, Green, Navy, Black
A Note on Natural: Natural Aspen has a matte appearance and a noticeably softer temper than the finished colors. Soft, pliable, and beautiful for garments.
