I know it's a relatively new leather but does anybody have any experience with Horween Aspen horsehide?

I have some swatches on the way, but was wondering if anyone has a full jacket in it yet.

Here's a new Schott example in a pre-distressed Aspen Dark Brown:

From The Tannery Row:

Horween Aspen is a newly developed, double-front horsehide leather, tanned and finished in Chicago, IL. It is a full-grain, 100% vegetable tanned leather in a 4-5oz. weight, making it an ideal thickness for luggage and other durable goods. While inspired by the classic European “Vachetta” style, which is smooth and firm, Aspen offers a distinctly American twist. It is much softer, with a round hand and a natural light pebbling. The surface is finished with a light glaze that gives the hides a rich lustre with some extra shine.

2.5-3.5 oz (1-1.4 mm): Natural, Dark Brown, Black

4-5 oz (1.6-2 mm): Cognac, Dark Brown, Burgundy, Green, Navy, Black

A Note on Natural: Natural Aspen has a matte appearance and a noticeably softer temper than the finished colors. Soft, pliable, and beautiful for garments.

Slight aside to say I really like this "pre-distressing", which really just seems to be a tumbled hide rather than fake wear marks and fades.

I ordered a sample of horweens new horse hides, the aspen was the most pliable and comfortable seeming out the box of them all, if you're looking for something that will drape right from the get go aspen is a good call

I was gonna order some black Aspen from Tannery row a few days ago for a cross zip project, but when I logged in I was side tracked by a fantastic deal they had on black CXL HH during their pre-black Friday sale. The Aspen looks really nice. I’m thinking the green would make a cool CR.
