That's very nice, with deep foil imprints and tight stitching. Celebrating the real calf leather in sweatbands seemed a popular feature in 1930s caps. Unfortunately, homburgs are not too popular in the classifieds and there are too many in black. Hope you have success finding a good home for it.

I would also say the 30s, but that's a guess for me too.

Yes, exactly - thank you very much. I don't remember seeing a better executed edge rolling. So well defined and beautifully rendered. I love the fact that they used a female die on the back instead of a flat cylinder. That way they created that extremely deep embossing and a delicate curve between the deep groove and the edge. It's melting my eyes!

I'm not sure, the close stitching does anything for comfort or sturdiness, but it's sooo elegant! The spacing and the vertical length of the stitches are incredibly well balanced.

Being a 7 1/4 I really hate to honour my promise to myself: "No new hats for the rest of the year". But I have to! :eusa_doh:

I have this one for sale in the classifieds but it's too nice a Homburg not to post it here. 2" brim, 5 5/8" crown depth, 2" grosgrain ribbon with twisted bow.

Beautiful! I wouldn't consider it a Homburg but my view might be a bit restrictive (mine based on 1920s to 50s conventions).

Side note: As far as I know the term Homburg wasn't used by German or Austrian hat makers prior to WWII. It's an Anglo - American term. This is a late 19th Century one (probably Austrian) I saw at the Novy Jicin museum. At that time they had tall tapered crowns.

After seeing the picturesl you posted of their bowler collection, i've on several occasions had brief fantasies of oceans 11 style robbing the place

Stetson Standard Quality

Stetson Standard Quality soft felt Homburg: 2" brim, 5 3/4" open crown with 2" grosgrain ribbon, unreeded sweatband. Not sure of the age on this one, I'm thinking the 30s or older.

Stetson Super Club Homburg

Picked up this Stetson Super Club soft Homburg recently. It's a little rough but the price was right. Probably had a liner at one time but I can't say for sure. The sweatband is still fairly soft and pliable in spite of the way it looks. I believe it's likely from the 40s!
