Help identifying perfecto leather jacket

Hi all,

I’m looking for any information that you all could help me with to identify this leather jacket that was given to us by my mother-in-law.

From what I have seen, it seems somewhat unusual in that the coin pocket is on the opposite side of where it usually is. Or maybe it’s a fake? We know nothing about this sort of thing.

It is likely late 70s or early 80s, we think. There is no model number anywhere that we can find. It’s a women’s, size 14.

We are just curious about this and looking for any information that you all might be able to provide. Thanks!

It is listed for sale currently on eBay with a starting price of $99.

The jacket looks to me like the early to mid-80s. Those were nice hides.
However, I have a question I've always wondered. Would a man wear such a jacket?

Looks legit to me. It's a ladies' model, as you note, fastening right over left (instead of the standard men's left over right), which is why it looks different. The ladies' jackets are almost always a mirror image of the men's design. Looks to be in very decent condition. Label looks like what I'd expect to see on a US-made jacket. How heavy is the hide? A lot of their ladies' jackets tend to be lamb now. A cowhide or steer would be more desirable.

Yep, beautiful jacket. $99 is a crazy low starting point in my opinion.

I'd expect that will shoot up. A lot of ebayers start things really low to generate interest, it seems. Been a long time since I sold anything o there so can't remember how it goes now, but... I remember a time when it was cheaper to put a reserve on any item and start the bidding at a penny, so you'd regularly see things that had a reserve of about fived hundred notes and a start price of a penny. Then the sellers would get angry when people kept putting in lowball bids.... I think now that's changed since they introduced the final-price gouge instead of paying for the listing.
