Hats on TV

Didn't he play a werewolf in some TV movie? Can't recall. Yes, that hard gaze and block-of-stone face would normally have led to him playing villains more often than he did heroes, but somehow he transcended that.

I had forgotten about that - had to look it up. He played a werewolf in a Fox TV series, "Werewolf." He wasn't the title character, but played Janos Skorzeny - which is the same name as the vampire in the original "Night Stalker" TV movie.

His character wore an eye patch but I don't think he was the one who turned into the werewolf. 1980's series.

He Has also played the part of Geronimo. He was made to look the part except I always thought he was one tall Geronimo!

He's also one of twelve to ever play these two sports professionally.

No hat picture to share, but one favorite TV hat has me wondering something...I always loved Barney Fife's straw hat (Andy Griffith Show) that he wore with his 'salt and pepper' suit.

In one episode, a date night fell through. Barney angrily said, "You spend all night polishing your hat and for what?! Heart aches!" LOL! Something like that.

That scene always made me laugh, but I never understood the reference to 'polishing' a hat, especially a straw hat. Was this ever a common term?

This one? Yeah, it looks like something I'd wear. :D Sorry, I have no idea about the "shine your hat" joke.

Yes, thanks! Great picture. It would be cool having one of his 'actual' hats from the show. I remember he wore them mostly brim up. I look kind of funny with brims up. I can't wear my straw like Barn. :)

I just got to thinking, maybe he meant 'polishing his shoes'. Maybe it was nothing more than a blown line that was left in.

"Stranger Things" on Netflix. The sheriff's hat even had a role in one scene.

We just started watching that last night, as it popped up in Netflix when I logged on. I'd never heard of it before yesterday and now, two episodes in and I think I'll be watching all of them. What scene are you talking about? Please remember, I'm only two episodes in, so no spoilers, please!

It kinda looks like an Open Road, but I'm not certain. It's certainly different in that he's not wearing a traditional "Smokey" hat.

Edit: I just looked up an article. From said article:

"But that hat the costume designer had designed by this guy in New York because I wanted him to have an iconic hat. I love hats like the porkpie hat in The French Connection or the fedora in Indiana Jones, so we came with this open road hat—a kind of hat like Eisenhower used to wear. We thought it might be something that maybe his grandfather had worn and had been passed down by generations of cops."
