Warming up for tonight’s game. After the disappointment of last week, I’ve gone back to the tried and true Resistol.

On a liquor run yesterday I picked up a bottle of Ol’ Smokey Banana Puddin’ Moonshine, & restocked on Crown Royal Chocolate & Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey after reading how good Banana Puddin’ & Crown Chocolate are together for a holiday morning whiskey or an after dinner desert drink.

I poured a 1:1 ratio, 2 oz Puddin’ on top of 2 oz Crown. The Puddin sinks & mixes but you can see a bit of Crown floating on top before the stir. At 1:1 the Banana Puddin’ is strong & artificial tasting. Needs more Crown Chocolate so next time I’ll pour 2:1. And I’ll remember that when I try a pour of Peanut Butter & Puddin’.

I have been enjoying some Main Squeeze IPA (Pyres Brewing Co.) of late.

Welcoming our snowfall last night I enjoyed a Deschutes IPA.

My nephew poured us a dram of Lagavulin 16. I felt bad but Unfortunately none of us have much of a pallet for Scotch. some
of the responses where “medicinal”. I personally got distinctly strong notes of turpentine and public swimming pool. So I’m thinking not for me. Looked great in the glass though. I did enjoy the Guinness however.

Two new arrivals. Etsuko (in particular) and I have always enjoyed Arran’s offerings, so we splashed out on the Port Cask Finish. The Islay Journey is an Islay Whisky blend.

We opened the Islay Journey today. Very impressed…Obviously, not the punch of a Lagavulin, but it might not be one for @Blare, though

Wow - Islay, Arran and Lagavulin 16! That is a lineup!

Yesterday I was less spectacular with a porter and a couple of IPAs.

The Founders Porter is just a delicious pour and sip. In the cold weather this Porter has an extra snap of flavor. The two IPA's are the last of the Deschutes.

I am now salivating thinking of some great whiskey.

This weekend I did open a new bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail. It was gift from my wife for the Thanksgiving efforts on behalf of her family. I opened the bottle and sipped it in the new snow. Ahhh.....

A couple Surley Ales and a Nut Hatch Brown Ale (canal Brewing, Duluth, MN).

The last many days it has been cold. Cold for Minnesota is when highs do not rise above low digits fahrenheit. I enjoyed a beer exercising my dog in the evenings. Surley IPAs and Founder Porter were my choices for my escapades.

Two weekends ago my brother and I went to a St.Paul bar and eatery called The Iron Ranger. It is a themed bar after the Iron Range (ore country in Northern Minnesota). We enjoyed a pasty which brought back memories of the food we enjoyed in Northern Minnesota during our childhood. The pasty, paired well with a Summit Oatmeal Stout. The pasty had smokey beef and was packed with vegetables. The beef gravy was excellent.

This guy purchased a little Irish Pub named after his father & moved it to his property in New Zealand.. Watching this makes me want to build a shed pub out back.
