And an after coffee shot.

I don’t own a Topper but as the holidays approach I enjoy wearing a derby more, especially during Christmas season.

Curious if you might have tried Boswells Countryside next to the SPC Scottish Woods? Virginia, Latakia and orientals...Sounds like a pretty similar blend

Used to use a lot of Seattle Pipe Club stuff when I lived up there. Im assuming its pretty much the same now for Scottish Woods even though its from MacClelland

Curious minds want to know

I have not tried Countryside. I like their Northwoods a lot but haven’t ordered anything from them in a while. Don’t like Christmas Cookie & the sweet stuff.

McClelland mixed SPC’s stuff for a long time. Of course McClelland’s is out of business now. I have several tins of Scottish Woods, Legends, & Mississippi River. I figured C&D would pick up Scottish Woods but I haven’t looked.

Ive used Countryside and Mild English as an "all day' go to. On really chilly mornings, I like Boswells Northwoods with coffee. Their Magnum Blend is a good smoke just a bit stronger to my mind than Countryside. Railroad Station to me is somewhere in between Northwoods and Countryside. Ive been trying a lot of Boswell stuff the past year just because they do their own blending in case some of my old favorites go missing from the market. Still searching for a really good Frog Morton replacement... Im down to a bit over an oz left so I need to get cracking I guess.

I have a couple of double tins of Frogs in the cellar but can’t remember which they are. I’ll used to keep 3 of the 4 blends.

Grey mornings blown away downstate, and now its sunny, breezy, and comfortably cool. Had the firepit going all morning for an extended coffee session. Fires dying down and the whole patio smells like Ive got the smoker going... Heavenly smell outside. Felt like I needed to just stay outside all afternoon.

Decided to test a recipe for an apple cider Old Fashioned that I found. Reduced down some grocery store apple fresh pressed cider into a syrup. (1 gal reduced to about a quart). Added Angostura bitters, Walnut bitters, Ice, equal parts ( couple oz each ) syrup and bourbon.... then added two more oz bourbon for just a bit more bite ( fun sized is better right?... I dont have to drive anywhere) . Kind makes me think of Apple Pie Moonshine using bourbon. Its a nice break from the normal mango and rum around here

of course it just had to be under a good old fashioned Open Road

Spent the afternoon crawling around the patio roof sealing some loose screw heads. Back on the ground safely and kicking back with some apple pie moonshine ( put the remaining everclear from the shellac project to good use) Figured Id better wait to drink till I was back on terra firma for the day. Less chance of a gravity storm off the ladder lol. Think the Hemp Open Road matches the drink pretty well!

Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whiskey with 1930s Stetson Standard Quality.

A bit stronger up front and on the way down. But very pleasant and rich tones on the backend. Went QUITE well in my iced coffee!

Humm.... Id never thought about ICED Tennessee or Kentucky coffee! If it gets to 80 again tomorrow I may have to give it a whirl. Did you do yours just coffee and Whiskey, or did you add some creme like Irish Cream?
