Thanks for the help. Being an ex-geek, what about cutting a pocket-protector in half, the stuffing the pocket square into that and then stuffing everything into my silk jacket.

actually, i rather like the pocket protector suggestion.

i fold mine over my card key and/or comb, then i adjust the amount showing.

the little bit of weight from those items, holds the square down, with just the right amount showing.

(image in a "J" shape where the bottom of the J is the tail of the square, the top is the exposed bit of frippery and comb is in the middle at the bottom of the J)

The way I see it... if it happens to go down, just readjust it. Not much you can do about it, like socks, unless you wear interesting contraptions to hold everything up. I'd rather not, personally. I'd lose some of that sprezzatura (?) and feel self conscious.

I've never seen those cardboard kind before. I did buy a few from an Ebay store where the lady hand makes them from a variety of materials and colors. They are all starched and sewn and are tall enough not to ever fall down. She also has them in many different patterns. I don't really think of this as cheating. It's not an auction but just a store, and they are all about $8.50. I have no affiliation with her besides liking her product.

Scarface, the Brian Depalma one, was on the other day. Not a tie in sight but everyone in a suit, not just the flashy drug guys, had a pocket square.
It just made the suits look "finished" even without the tie.

I personally think that thing looks pretty cool.

A hankie is a dynamic piece of cloth.
It is most frequently on display in your jacket pocket. However, it's varied uses include being handed to a lady in need, stem bleeding due to non-payment to a bookie, to bind said bookie, etc. etc.
To have this piece of cloth as a starched and cardboard backed display piece is an injustice to this versatile piece of men's accessory.

Maybe there is a fold you can do that just lets the tips or the square show, and requires less fussing with....

Gentlemen, wasnt there a pocket square folding website somewhere, with different folds to try?

Barring that...do something and if it migrates during your shift, chalk it up to real life wearing. People only look perfect for pictures....a bit of reality makes a person more likeable, in my opinion.

The "architect" is something I should try. I usually just fold mine in a square and adjust the bottom and side to fit my breast pocket, but it can be problematic.

I think it looks good since the hat is black and the tie has some black.

I wore a black pocket square with red stitching and a black suit, black tie, white shirt recently for a memorial for a friend who died. Red stitching, zig zag, on a black pocket square... Any thoughts on that?
