Great Shops in Sydney or Melbourne?

I'll be in Australia in the next few weeks and wonder if there are any cool stores I should check out? TBH - I'm not going to buy a leather jacket or any expensive clothing there, but I would love to see what they carry. I'll be doing the tourist thing and visiting Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairns.
