Great Leather/LCS repair Dena is AMAZING!!

Man I am just over the moon and super geeked to get my jacket back from Great Leather/ Leather care specialists. I know her shop has been mentioned before but she deserves more attention than she gets. Her work is flawless and she is an absolute delight to work with. Dena Hamilton is the owner and I’m here to tell you she is an absolute master at her craft. She repaired/altered my jacket incredibly quickly and upon its return it literally feels brand new.

I can’t say enough good things about Dena. Her customer service goes well beyond anything I’ve experienced before. I received photo and video updates of the progress with suggestions for the best method of caring for issues.
Here is a rundown of what I had done:
Busted sleeve/tattered storm cuff replace
Blown out pocket repaired
New main zipper installed
Move Halfbelt up 3”
She also made repairs to the sheepskin that had become very thin in some spots.

I'm not sure i see a real difference in the relocation of the side straps (it's different, not sure one is better than the other), but she did a really nice job with these cuffs and the main zipper.

It’s subtle but they are 3” north of where they were. It’s nice b/c it slims the torso and now they are placed right where the shearling begins on the jackets interior, making it incredibly toasty. This should get me through a Chicago winter with little more than a t-shirt!

Little better shot of how the belt relocation helped the fit. I sincerely wish I would’ve sent my PHWM to Dena and had this done. Please pardon my strained grimace. I realize I’m morphing into hide the pain Harold.

You can now safely buy literally anything you like on eBay, without having to worry whether about what condition its in or if it'd fit or not and just send it to Dana if anything goes wrong. These repairs / mods are all done above perfectly. Wish I had someone like that where I live...

@ton312, Awesome work. She really did a great job. Good to know there are still a few great leatherworkers out there. Sometimes I feel like it is a dying trade. I can't picture many millennials getting into the leatherworking trade. Sometimes I wonder who is up-and-coming in the field. Who will take over for the Stu's, the Ken's, the Allen's when they hang 'em up. Enjoy the "new" jacket. Looks great!

AGREED! Part of the satisfaction comes from the sustainability too. This jacket easily could’ve been discarded as shot to shit but thankfully the eBay seller knew better and so did I (I think) when I threw the sole bid. Dena is incredibly meticulous. Getting a text message video of what was being done was just so cool. Good to feel like your part of the project. That’s always been what makes me happy with jackets.
