I have just started poking around the internet looking to upgrade from my Wal-Mart gloves and I came across this site. http://www.hangerproject.com/clothing-accessories/gloves.html

After I got over my initial shock regarding the price I am intrigued, I am curious if anyone has owned a pair of these gloves or has found other better places for acquiring gloves.

How do you take care of such pricy gloves anyway? I would think just leaving them in your coat pocket to get wrinkled would be unacceptable.

I don't know about buying any of their gloves, but the price of the hangers and clothes storage units seems OK.

Also, within the Garment Care - Irons & Ironing, the Reliable G4m Garment Steamer seems as The Cat's Meow!

I'm pretty sure those higher end gloves are meant to be either more comfortable or in fact more durable than cheaper gloves depending on the leather used. Deerskin with cashmere lining for example could certainly be stuffed in jackets and be insanely comfortable.

I don't often wear really nice gloves, but if I've learned one thing about gloves it is to NEVER wear a pair of fine leather gloves for activities such as driving a car or shoveling snow :eeek: They'll be ruined in no time at all .

Deep breath ($$$)....

I upgraded:

Brown: Chester Jefferies / Peccary - cashmere lining

Black: Dents / Deerskin - cashmere lining

After you get over the sticker shock (try to buy on sale), they're terrific!

That site is ridiculous. $400 for a pocket square? I laugh when I see them in Macy's for $35. I pay 25cents at my church thrift store for mint brand new ones of all colors, styles and designs. Steam them with my garment steamer and voila.

Admittedly, the vast majority of gloves I buy are for motorcycling and not casual wear. But I think the offerings on the Chester Jefferies site were attractive. I looked at the hangerproject.com site and couldn't get past the shoes. Found it rather odd that every pair - no matter the leather type, cut, dye, finish, etc. - was exactly $1,600, which is very steep for non-custom shoes made on a standard last. And I've always found "semi-bespoke" or "semi-custom" (here in the States) to be nothing more than marketing. It's either fitted to my measurements or it's not.
