I received the following information regarding L. R. Zeumer Hutfabrik from the Mannheim City Archives.

1639: Familie Zeumer ist Urkunden zu folge in Thüringen schon als Hutmacher bekannt.....

......03/12/1991: Fur fashions Zeumer closes its office in Mannheim

Whether the range of products has led Zeumer, and soft felt hats has involved, I'm unfortunately not in the documents can be found.

Superb research! I will go to Mannheim in the next 2 or so weeks and see what else I can find.

DavidRaphael, Hopefully you can find more information. Maybe newspaper / magazine ads that shows / mentions Zeumer soft felt hats.

Yes that is the famous Ulm minister.

A. Peschel "Norma" Homburg

Size 59cm. Very early 1960s and in near NOS condition. This is my first A. Peschel Dinkelsbühl Homburg and it's fantastic.

Steve what does "Norma" mean in reguards to this Homburg? Is it a quality designation?

Yes it's the quality designation. I have a smooth finish Peschel snap brim with a similar label and it's marked Flexa. I assume Flexa is based on the word flexible and Norma is based on the word norm.

So there should be at least one level above this one since it is normal. Wonder what a Special model would include of coarse fur content amount.

Mayser, just gotta say that of all the homburgs I've seen, THAT one is my favorite. That subtle brim curl is amazing! Congrats on obtaining that beauty.

Here's my latest acquisition. A size 58 fedora from Lembert Hutmacher of Augsburg. Picked it up for a song. The material is great and very cozy! Not really sure how old it is.

I would say early 1960s. Don't see many older Lemberts so a super find. The felt (also the time period) is similar to the the Hückel "Clipper" I posted on the other thread.

By the way K&R Lembert are still in business today but only making lower end hats for festivals. Dreispitz (Dieter) and I visited this past April.
