Stefan, Thank you for posting the photo of the Gallinat liner logo. I did a trademark search and couldn't find anything relevant. The Echter Mayser "Wildleder" is super. Really like the elaborate liner patch and thin ribbon / bow. Also great color and finish. The Valetini Superior has a great look. I have no idea who made it but it's of high quality. I also tried a trademark search and again nothing came up. Hutfabrik Gebrüder Kurzthaler , Linz is a new one to me. They don't come up in any of the lists I have from pre WWII or post WWII. The hat does look great and of high quality. I did a quick Google search and the found the company address (I assume they are no longer in business) but no other details.

Steve, thanks. Found the address for Gebrüder Kurzthaler too, but streetview doesn't show a hatshop there anymore. Apparently it was both a hatshop, clothing shop and in a more distant past a hatfactory too. Today something different: I seem to remember a discussion about wartime production of hats here recently. I missed out on a hat auction last week I would have loved to have won, but it was already sold. I have some pictures from the auction and from the seller, who still had a few of them on his phone. Hückel Standard homburg in black, size 56 and with a newspaper dated 1942 between the sweatband. It is possible of course that it was made before the war and only sold in 1942, but interesting nonetheless. Poor quality pictures, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Stefan, I am sorry you missed on this fantastic JHS "Standard". I also came across it while searching. I can't remember when JHS stopped production but it's possible the hat is from 1942 but I tend to think it's a bit earlier.

I sent photos of the Gallinat, Valetini, and Gebrüder Kurzthaler to friend of mine in Germany. It's possible he might know something.

That is a nice find, Steve. I've just had a look at your website again for the Ottmar Reich hats and there are some lovely examples there of their hats. All I've ever seen from Ottmar Reich are those stingy brim hats from the seventies and eighties.

Stefan, Thanks! I can't remember if I have come across a 1950s or older O.R.L. Felt Hat. Lindenberg was known for Straw Hats (mostly Kreissäge/Boaters) and companies such as O.R.L. and Mayser Milz started making Felt Hats (in addition to Straw Hats) in the 1920s.

All great examples of 1960s style. Embrace the stingy! Of course these are Uber Stingy, and really cool.

This is a duplicate of a post in the Borsalino thread. I think it's for the german market so apposite to here. If not I can delete this post.

hi, ok this is the one from Holland that went missing in postal land. What can anyone tell me about it now there are better pictures? It's in very good condition. Really nice hat.

it says 5 1/2, but it fits my 57cm well. It was advertised as a 57.
