I purchased a collection of old (probably 1930s and older) hat liner print plates (82 pieces) from the Czech Republic. They were found near Štramberk which is a short distance from Nový Jičín (Neutitschein) where Johann Hückel´s Söhne, Anton Peschel and Brüder Böhm were located. The largest number are from Brüder Böhm but I will start with Johann Hückel´s Söhne because I have a photo of the JHS factory print shop.

What an awesome find Steve! So glad these ended up with you.

I just realized some of the plates are Anton Peschel Neutitschein (based on 1869) date so I will have to go back through the plates and check for the following design (and other known AP designs).

I just received some photos of additional plates that include Dalton Hat Company of New York.

Dalton Hats

Steve, that's fantastic! As you know, I've become somewhat enamored of the Dalton brand and this is great to see. I have not seen that liner logo before, either. Of course, I haven't seen a whole lot of Daltons anyway, so that doesn't mean much. When you print, it would be nice to try to get my hands on a Dalton print.

Does this mean that Dalton likely sourced from Europe for their felts? Or possibly some of the hats were entirely manufactured in Europe? Pardon my ignorance for how this would work.

Thanks! My guess is that they sourced complete Austrian Velour hats (other specialty finishes) from JHS, BB or AP. I don't have the Dalton plate (seller's photo). I am still thinking about purchasing these latest plates.
