Hey guys! Im Looking for your knowledge. I just saw this post about a suposely german army white tee from the 70's. Do you know something about it? Do you have any insight about this piece? Any data or information Will be apreciated

Well, it certainly looks like the ones they gave me later on.

Not that anybody ever wore them. The green ones were the go-to, and all the gf’s wanted to have the tank top with the national eagle application.

I never really appreciated the quality of some of the old stuff. I was one of the last generations who got the old moleskin uniforms when the new gear was being tested and even Gore-Tex made its first appearance.

I have since always bought some NOS pants and Field Jackets for gardening work etc. Indestructible, and they cost just a song.

Ah I missed the bit where he said "from the 70s", but my point was that the surplus ones (even deadstock) sell for a low enough price that there wouldn't be much incentive to make a fake.

I don’t really know about US Army issue, but for “old” German Army surplus, there’s essentially three sources:
- deadstock items,
- used originals; they cost virtually nothing
- new items “according to old mil-spec” (Which I guess is a flexible enough category) I usually buy these, but am picky about the materials used. For new moleskin pants, it will be ca. EUR 30 which is a price where I don’t ask too many questions.

I am off-and-on considering a German Airforce Flight Jacket, but then I’d probably like to see them before purchase. They are priced at a level where it’s more attractive to cut some corners (I.e. Steerhide instead of the original Goatskin). They have a pretty distinctive look with the blousy silhouette and slate grey leather.
