An authentic Maglificio Biellese Fratelli Fila woolen jacket.
Sounds familiar? Yeah, that FILA.
Apparently, Fratelli Fila S.p.A. originally started as a wool and knitwear manufacturer, transitioning to sportswear sometime during the 1970s so the jacket had to have been made prior to that although when, I am not certain.
The blazer is made from heavy, thick, pure virgin wool in a charcoal/anthracite gray hue. Ideal for autumn and winter.
You can see all the characteristics of traditional Northern Italian (Milanese) tailoring of a master class.
Substantially structured with full, multi-layered single-piece canvas, & horsehair, even throughout the lapels. While just as structured, the shoulders aren't as drastically padded as you'd expect on such a heavy suit. Beautiful, clean shape to them. Among the nicest I've seen.
Single button closure, barchetta chest pocket & jetted side pockets. No vents on the back. Masterfully lined by hand with heavy ribbed twill - Note how perfectly and neatly tensioned it is! Zero sag to it.
Although a near perfect match, the trousers, made by Canaletto, Italy, are not the part of the suit & have been made much later. However, the fabric being nearly identical (a tad finer, perhaps) combined with a 1950s styling - High-Rise, Straight-Leg profile with a discrete taper toward the bottom - make them a perfect companion to the jacket.
I could go on but I think anyone viewing this listing already knows enough about tailoring to make their own judgement based on the photos alone.

If either piece had been worn, no traces were left. Pristine & perfect. Literally as new, amazingly so.

You have no idea how much I was looking forward to this suit. All the measurements seem(ed) perfect and yet, it is simply too small. I don't understand how or why but it is. I can wear it, even on layers, I can button it but it just feels tight so it has to go.
The price is a joke because there are so many beautiful suits on the used clothes market that I just can't expect to get back anything over what I paid (while leather jackets that look like they were made by chickens randomly pecking at leather fetch hundreds or even thousands) so there you have it. . .
