Beautiful early 1940s California Sportswear goatskin half-belt jacket with incredible natural aging and character throughout. One of those jackets that immediately stands out in person — the goatskin has developed a rich range of tones and texture over decades of real wear, especially across the shoulders, sleeves, seams, and cuffs.
Really unique design details throughout: angled chest pocket with large wartime Talon O-ring zipper pull, sculpted front handwarmer pockets with piping, paneled half-belt back, flippable cuffs, and a very fitted early silhouette that feels distinctly pre-war / wartime California Sportswear.
The leather still has good life and flexibility overall and presents beautifully. Main zipper has been professionally replaced at some point and appears to have been installed carefully along the original stitch path. Lining also appears to have been replaced at one time, though it was done well and functions nicely. Original owner’s “MM” initials are stitched into the interior lining.
Condition notes:
A genuinely beautiful old half-belt with an extremely hard-to-fake look that only comes from age and long-term wear.
