At 5'9", I'm just on the cusp of your short/tall cut-off. The issue I have is proportion. I have long legs and a shorter torso. I wish more trousers were made, as in vintage items, with a higher waist.

The short pilot at work (5'9", the rest are 6'-6'4") swears he's going to sue the city for putting the sidewalks so close to his butt

I just saw a statistic recently stating that the current average height for men in the US is 5' 9.2", so being 5' 9", I never really thought of myself as "short", particularly since most of the men I work with are between 5' 6" 5' 10", with some over 6-footers.

A little bit of historical trivia. At 5' 6" we think of Napoleon as short, but for his time, he was rather taller than most other Frenchmen!

I'm a teacher, and to the oft shouted (when I am on a stool wiping the board) 'Hey, Miss, you are really little!' my reply is laways the same:
'I'm not little, I'm just really far away...'

"Good things come in small packages" if I had a dime for every time I heard that phrase, I'd be a millionairess.

I'm only 4"10" and despair of buying clothes that are ready to wear. The so called 3/4 length sleeves are full length on me and dresses and slacks must be hemmed.

The worst part, though, is that an extra five pounds of weight really shows!
