How do you like them on your feet?

1st time I put them on was extremely tight and hard to get my feet in. Took almost 30 seconds per foot of pushing and wiggling to get Into the boot. Once in they were obviously snug along the sides of my feet and on the top but nothing painful. Wore them for about 2 hours just working at my desk and a few trips around the house. Came back home just now and put them on and they definitely went on easier. Less snug on the sides of the feet still pretty snug on the tops of my feet. I will continue to repeat this for the next couple days before I take them outside for a good walk.

They should not be too tight but if the leather is not too thick it will stretch. You can purchase a shoe/boot stretcher from amazon or, and I have used this method, submerge your boots in water for an hour then wear them until dry. Of course, you have to wear them straight with no breaks.

Geeze i need to put in 1/2 insoles and tongue pads to make mine tight enough. Low foot volume has I.

I have long ago given up the idea of preferred fit/proper fit in general. You can see lots of the Japanese photos of well worn engineer boots with completely flattened toe which means the boots must be way too big (long) for them.

Sounds ike they fit 100% perfect. Should be a fair struggle to get on the first time. If for any reason you decide they are not for you - DM me - we're the same size in these.

thanks for the heads up that the struggle is real. Day 2 is definitely better and currently wearing them around the house with the insoles removed for a little less pressure. Putting the boots on is getting easier but still not just a quick slip on at this point. Getting them off definitely involves me sitting down, pulling and Wiggling the boot a lot. These boots look absolutely amazing and I hope I can make these work for me.

All of my engineers that fit well do not fit overly snug. My veg tan cowhide clinch boots are a little harder to get off than other engineers, but not especially difficult. So at least in my experience, that is not required for a proper engineer fit at all.

Here are my new Flame Panda moc toe boots in Horween Color 4 shell cordovan. Really happy with these. They are my first shell cordovan boots, but I have two more shell pairs coming as well. I think his moc toe design is the best out there which is why I went for them. His work overall is excellent as always.

I am so tempted by all your photos rocking those engineer boots, however the fear of heel slip always stopping me from buying one pair. And unfortunately there is no brick-and-mortar shop nearby which offers the try-on opportunity. Out of all your collections, are you able name some models with excellent heel counter that "hug" your heels?

i suggest buying a cheap $100 pair and seeing if you like the style. If so then plunge down the rabbit hole. The $100 research is far less than money than you’ll be out if you buy a $700 pair and Then try to sell them off a month later.

It does depend on foot shape, last, width. Having good arch support like White's helps. Red Wing with narrow arch, low profile and heel counter also may work depending on your foot shape.
The alternative is having a pair of boots that you cannot take off yourself without help. Fitted with narrow shaft like riding boots.

Most comfortable are my White Kloud boots. The heel slip on my Role Clubs is the most minor of all of my engineer boots, but it is still there.

None of mine has ever gone away so it does depend on foot shape quite a lot. My Role Clubs have very minor heel slip. It's barely there, but it is definitely there. It doesn't bother me at all. Most of the time I don't even notice it.

These are really cool design. A little different than most engineers. I like them a lot. If you don’t mind me asking how much is Onderhoud charging for these in that black horsebutt?
